Jeez... he nearly got a haircut with that low pass!  Cracking clips both.

really interesting.
Love that low pass. Really like my planes and anything else that flies.
Spitfires are just class. Love that rolls royce merlin engine note at full chat!

Wish I could have seen a Lancaster flying.  If one Merlin is good... 4 must be better.....  :D

Tangental to the Merlin / Spit thing though...

I'm into planes a bit - have been a member here for years in the past.  http://qam.com.au/

Largest collection of de Havilland aircraft in Australia.  Love those Sea Vixens....

Have seen and heard a Vampire flying (that whistling Goblin is something else) and the cartridge starter is interesting too....

You need to come see the "Battle of Britain" flight Mike, Spitfire, Hurticane and Lancaster, which attend many summer shows in the U.K. They'll fly over my place at least 2-3 times each summer on the way to shows. Lovely sight and sound!!!

I've actually sat in some of them, the lads and lasses of RAF do a great job keeping them flying.

When at the 'Warbirds over Wanaka' last Easter they had a Spitfire and a Buchon 109 up. The motors were really only just purring.
I wondered what they would sound like at treetop level going flat out.
When at school in the 60's a mates dad had been a rear gunner in a Stirling. I remember him telling me his dad said the gunners life span was very short when being attacked......12 seconds max. Never forgot that.......shiver !!
Amazed how they kept everything flying night after night. Day after day. Real men in those days.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

I used to work on a range and never forget the sight of jets flying below me when standing on a 30 foot tower, Buccaneer pilots were all mad.

...and the raf tornado pilots up at RAF lossiemouth in scotland were something else too! Just mental.
Really miss seeing tornados flying...
