I would like to get more power out of the 1400 and I'm told the valve lift is very small which robs the top end power, so, I want to start with the cams. I'm not keen to regrind the standard cams, money is tight and yoshi cams are expensive, so is it possible to fit cams out of another motor e.g. Oil cooled GSXR or Bandet 1200?
:whatever:

Oil cooled GSX-R and Bandit 1200 have screw adjusted valves and totally different cams than GSX 1400. One small and cheap trick is make your own cam chain sprockets adjustable with long holes. That can help a little, but not much.

Yes, all I've seen for a performance cam is a Yoshi stg1 for about $800 so I think, so far, it'll be a regrind.

a few options available but its widely agreed yoshi st1 cams are the best for power gains across the rev range .
from std 100bhp to around 135bhp.

tts cams give almost same peak power but lose out on midrange big time.

a few guys on here got turbo's ,big bore kits ect
most use yoshi cams as first stage of the power increase
so have a good look over the forum .
only a slightly modified gsx1400
oh and a standard one too
