At 85K you couldn't have been much of a big eater!

You'd be surprised.
Wife can't believe how much I can eat. I really love my food!
Even when I was a serious drinker and got into it most nights I was no heavier.
I'm on my feet all day, and active all evenings (I'm down the shed at the moment) I have high blood pressure (now being medicated) and rarely sleep more than 5 hours a day. I'm up with the dog and feeding the hens at 3.30am !  I actually tried to bulk up, eat all the right (and wrong) things a while back and went to the gym. Never gained more than a couple of Kg's.

I don't remember ever seeing more than 85kgs. My body just won't do it !

What I lack in ability I try and compensate for in stubborn determination...  :happy1:

Well Tony, you're one luck S.O.B.  I just need to think of having a beer (which is often) & the weight goes up.

We're all different, friend of ours is same as you, eats plenty & never puts on any weight,  body can't seem to do it.

Yeah, it used to be an issue when I was younger.
Never liked being a skinny f#cker !
Less of an issue now though.

Being 80kg has its advantages..... LOL

My old bones aren't great.
Doctor recommends swimming or cycling but that not me.

Legs were playing up after my first 10K run but that's my own dumb arse fault
going from 5 straight to 10K in one go.

I was a big eater and loved my soft drink but I'm slowly getting better.
Went from 85kg t Xmas to 78 now but I do miss my Pizza, crisps etc.
At 85K you couldn't have been much of a big eater!  I consider myself fairly capable of putting away a decent feed & some beers on a regular basis. Currently I'm tipping the scales at around 134 - 135Kg. (poor bike thinks it's 2 up all the time!)
I'd like to get down a bit, but running is no good for me - kill me joints!
I'm almost of generous enough proportions to join the breakfast club the UK riders have, I say, almost!  :stir:

We could be twins, you could try a bicycle, easy on the knees.
I like to not wear Lycra to upset the purists.
I also do a bit of karate, and six days a week do the exercises in the link below.
I tried the gym, don't like to share so these are perfect.
They were conceived to be complimentary to karate but I believe they would help anyone .
You don't need to increase the weights just consistently work the body till fatigued.

How much would that stick & concrete club weigh Dave?

I'm not sure, I used a 2kg weight and a bit of dowel for mine, and a couple of 4kg kettle balls for the hand weights.

Ok well...

Well i did my first parkrun yesterday.

Dramas with lower back PAIN but aerobic fitness just poor rather than abyssmal as I'd suspected. This is the first time I've run in anger for 20 years or so...

I'm proud of just turning up.
Finishing the 5kms was a total bonus even though it took 40 minutes...

Sandgate parkrun results for event #234. Your time was 00:39:52.
Congratulations on completing your 1st parkrun
You finished in 288th place and were the 151st male out of a field of 357 parkrunners and you came 20th in your age category
I can only assume there were only 20 runners in my age category....  :D

I'm bloody sore today though....

Well done Vlad !

I'm impressed you had a go.

My 1st one was 40 minutes something.
Its a bloody shock when you haven't run in a long time.

Good on you for doing it Mate....  :onya:

Did a 10K (6.2 mile) run tonight.
I'm never very quick after a day at work.

Ran the whole 10K without having a walk for the 1st time !
(I'm new to 10K's and normaly only do timed 5K's)

Shaved a few seconds off down to 58 minutes 55 seconds.

if you like your fitness guys and girls try insanity  i do this six days a week it about 45 mins every day and one rest day a week and you can do it over 30 days and then carry on or move up to the deluxe this is hard .. but the first one is a great work out all round fitness  :onya:
look check and look again  then you see the fool

VladTepes

Tony that is mighty impressive :onya:

My 5k 40 minutes 'half run' will do me for now but hopefully will get better in due course.

Not sure if I will do better or worse this week, but with the start time at Springwood delayed to 9am I'll be able to do the 7am Sandgate run and then get across for the get together brekky !

Well,

Sandgate parkrun results for event #235. Your time was 00:38:40.
You finished in 298th place and were the 159th male out of a field of 364 parkrunners and you came 24th in your age category

Improved my time by a whole..... 1 minute & 12 seconds.

Felt worse aerobically this time, but it was still the bad lower back pain kicking in from about the 1.25km mark.... NOT fun at all.   I wish I knew some exercises or something that could help with that....

Haven't done a Park Run for a couple of weeks.
I've been doing 10K runs mid week and my knees aren't great.
Only did 5K's in the week this time so had a crack at another 5K Park Run.

Ran a 27:33.

Not my best but close.
Knees still hurt.
.

VladTepes

I shaved precisely a minute off last weeks time   - ran 00:37:40 this morning.
My back issues are frustrating me immensely because if I could have that sorted I'd reckon I could run similar times to yours.
I HATE having to stop and rest as I go along, because my back pain is too much.
