The macanns

Terrible tragedy that they lost their daughter

My observation is .... wouldn't have feckin happened if they hadn't abandoned her in a bedroom with an open door so they could go off and get boozed with their mates .... if they weren't so called "middle class" perhaps more fuss would have been made about putting their girl at risk

Yep - working class would have been charged and other children put in care

I said at the time and still think they had something to do with it.  They're obviously not too bothered as they must be making a mint out of all the books they keep bringing out.

Agreed.

I couldn't even imagine leaving my daughter alone for 5 minutes in a hotel room alone, nevermind to go and get boozed up!

Tired of hearing about it, quite frankly.

It's a strange one - let's be honest, most of us who are parents have all been distracted and taken their eye off a child for a moment and then felt the blind panic that comes until you have spotted them again. To loose a child must be horrendous, but on the other hand you must take the responsibility if you take the risk of leaving them unattended.

These parents do seem to have been treated with an unusual amount of sympathy though in the circumstances. If they didn't have the "right accent" I suspect the media would have ripped them to pieces. I can only assume that they have been advised or worked out for themselves that they need the tabloids on their side and know how to play them.

I have an open mind on cases like this, they MAY have had something to do with it, they MAY not have, but we must remember one common denominator, & that's the media. All & everything we know has come from the press, & we all know just how reliable they can be don't we!!

Then there's the legal-fee's bit, solicitors sole purpose in life is to relieve us of our hard earned, I actually KNOW this as in the 90's a so called business partner attempted to screw us out of everything we had, house & all, we were in the right, but desperate & it cost us many tens of thousands to hire the best to save us, & they dragged it out for as long as they could, milked it to death, & oh how I would have loved a  book to publish to pay for it!!
So don't be too judgemental, IF they were negligent, then they'll be suffering as well.
I DO have to grow old, I DO NOT have to grow up.

I am convinced they had nothing to do with her disappearance OTHER than having made the unfortunate choice to leave the children alone, unattended.

But who is with their child 24/7 in reality?
There are a number of examples of children being stolen from their beds while parents slept in a room next door.
They considered they were close by and obviously didn't think of there being a risk of ANYTHING like this happening.

I feel sorry for them, I really do.

Oh and much is made of their initial 'lack of emotion'.  They were actually told by police not to show excessive emotion as it would help the police investigation to flush out perpetrators or some such (according the the Scotland Yard detective I saw interviewed recently).

ANd I'll leave it at that.

Did a Dingo really steal off with Azaria Chamberlain?
In the end we have to rely on our legal system and hope the truth comes out. We the public have information mainly obtained via the media which are questionable facts at best. The courtroom hears everything (except suppressed evidence) and those twelve Jurors have the best information upon which to base a decision.
Sometimes I just want to say hang the bastards because I'm sure they did it but the truth is, I don't know and there is reasonable doubt.
May the sun be warm & shining and your roads be smooth & winding.

Unfortunately she's dead, her Mum accidentally overdosed her, her father covered it up.
They'll find her remains in this region

Call me a nut job, fruit cake, whatever you like but in about a year's time the truth will out.

VladTepes

So you're a fruit cake, with nuts?

I don't think there's any chance of a body being found out there.... even if there is one.
