Hi I'm new to this site I have just bought a GSX1400 K5  I need to fit a new rear tyre can anyone tell me if a 200 x 50 x 17 will fit and would it affect the handling at all

Welcome. Your original size is 190/50 ZR 17. It is much easier to find and cheaper than 200/50 ZR 17. But if you want 200mm tyre, Bridgestone,Pirelli,Mezeler,Dunlop and Avon will make them.

The first question I guess is why do you want to fit a 200 profile tyre.

Yes it will affect handling (probably making the bike more sluggish in handling), but in any case (and this from memory), I'm not sure it would fit without causing issue. I seem to recall one was fitted to a "special" by a member on the previous forum where he had to modify the swingarm, but then it was a "special".

Thanks for the replies I thought if I fitted a 200 section tyre it would make the back end look meaty but I don't want it to effect handling
