In UK not many seem to adhere to that rule, and it obviously is not policed.
In Oz  the HWP take no prisoners and on this issue I agree hit the offenders via their wallet.

The reason why Australian rules have only parking light on rear of vehicle is because in Oz you are not allowed to park facing into oncoming

I figured it was more to do with the headlight always on while running... no point in running a front park.

One day I put 'park' light on by mistake.
LED tailight was on all night. Noticed it in the morning, bike started fine, I expected a flat battery.
If front park light was fitted??
