Hi all,
I think I already know the answer to this question...
I have just taken delivery of 5 litres of Liqui-Moly 10W-40 semi synthetic oil..
Included as a "freebie" in the pack was some "Liqui-Moly Engine Flush Shooter" (https://www.liqui-moly.com/en/gb/motorbike-engine-flush-shooter-p003807.html#20597)

Is this something I should leave well alone?
I am not servicing my bike till the weekend so I havent added anything..
What are your views?

My main reservation is that the "Temporary" shooter will remain in the engine due to the oil cooler, and will NOT be totally flushed out when the old oil is drained.

I wouldn't bother.

Not only because of what you say about it staying in there, but because when I had the sump off mine there was zero sludge in it after quite a few miles so I can't imagine any other 14 that's been serviced during it's life would have any either.

I wouldn't use it either Simon, for the reason you said.

I admit I'm a fan of oil flushing additives, especially in diesel engines. The amount of sludge that this stuff dislodges and removes is amazing.

I just don't know how compatible this stuff is with wet motorcycle clutches and the friction material, so I choose not to use it on my bikes.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Just to add to this, when I said no sludge at reasonable miles. This is just after dropping the sump at 167k, I'd not even wiped the oil out & you can see how clean these engines stay inside with just regular oil changes. So I can't see any point in ever flushing them as there shouldn't be anything to flush.

Agree totally, if reg serviced the detergent in oil will keep it clean. No need for flush. Ill try to post pic of Toyota motor, never an oil change in 93 th ks. I reckon it did well to last that long before destructing.
