I Fly model aircraft, and I saw a demo where a 1 cell battery, about 2cm square, only 3.7 V, was over charged and the flames were 6ft high.
so multiply that by X cells and you get what's in the vid.

Not to be trifled with....

I fly electric model planes and electric rc cars, and yes when those lipos go they really go, this was due to damage via large crash.

A fireman said that a normal combustion engine car fire can be extinguished in 20 minutes.
A tesla or other electric car (lithium batteries) fire at LEAST 4 hours, with spontaneous reignition possible for up to 24 hours.
The other major issue is the huge deadly current in the high-voltage circuit.

...and then the Winged Hussars arrived.

not to mention the deadly cocktail of fumes and gases from a LiPo battery fire.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Nearly everyday a Lithium fire/explosion on the news here. High daytime temps make it more occurrent they say. Powerbank left in car recently, melted console, seat etc.

One of my mates was charging his electric scooter ...

I thought the main cause of lithium battery fires is the use if incorrect chargers? People using older style units for agm, wet cell batteries

I believe the cells can fail & cause the same issue? or a fault with the internal charging circuity that controls the cells too.

I'm not concerned, in time I'm sure different methods of energy storage will become available, "necessity is the mother of invention".
I went down to Bunbury with my brother in his Tesla and the acceleration off the line is unbelievable, I would like to see the 60' times on the 1/4 mile.
I am absolutely hanging for an electric bike similar to my K1600, I think we are in for some amazing motorcycles in the future.
May the sun be warm & shining and your roads be smooth & winding.

Did you make it to Bunbury without a recharge?

And back, about a 400km round trip. We didn't take his older model Tesla, that wouldn't.
