G'Day guys,
It has been quite a while since I have been here but I still have my beloved K7 and am giving him some loving as I haven't had him out in about 18 months but am fixing a few things that need to be done so I can get out riding again.
One thing that always bugged me was that I knew I needed to replace the fuel filter as I have back flow cleaned/flushed it out a couple of times in the past as the replacement is damn expensive from Mr Suzuki (now nearly $600-).
BUT I was looking about some other Suzuki parts fishes and had an idea about a Hayabussa fuel filter and found an aftermarket/Chinese one on e-Bay for less than $50- delivered and thought I'd give it a shot.
So as you'll see as per the pics below it is basically the same as it's just the top that is slightly different but IT FITS like the STD one.
I haven't started the bike as yet as he is still in a lot of bits BUT I thought I had to share this with all of you as I thought this could out help everyone here.
Here's the link to the one I purchased and pics below

So, I'll finish with
Do what you do, Not because you have too, Not because you want too, But because you can  :onya:

Gidday Trav, it sure has been a while, thanks for popping in & sharing that with us.  Don't be a stranger . . .

GDay Trav. A great find if it does the job. A few of us have fitted external filter, works well. If yours is good, no need to at its price.

I would test fuel pressure regulator just to be sure it keeps the right fuel pressure

I agree but I'm never really with a croud with names in a way.
Mine is just called Beast

I got Beast all finished yesterday and went for about a 30min ride and it all seemed to go well.
So I do believe the filter is working fine.
I'll try and remember to give an update in the future after more riding.

Thanks Trav, glad all ok. Ive been a big fan of ext filter, works fine. Main reason the stupid cost of oem in tank. Cleaning it out is not my option, others dis agree but i reckon mine went better when mod done.My opinion only. If youre find works, ill have no prob changing back, $50 every 20 or 30 th K 👍

If you look like your passport photo then you're too sick to travel.

Snapey, cleaned filter insert a few times now, looks a bit dirtier after each clean. Different colour. Only $12 for new one, very cheap. No hurry to change, been a great mod.

Only thing that's at the back of my mind...due to it's origins, how do we know what is the filtration inside compared to the original?
I'm all geared up to do the external mod, but that filter is 30 microns, but looking at this I'm not so sure now as the pump has to come out to do the external mod anyway, my original is now 21 years old  :undecided:
