Today I saw that rarest of beasts - a Tesla WITHOUT a personalised number plate.
no way.....
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Sorry Vlad, one upping. I saw a big arse Harley. Rider had full gear on, even full face hat. Now, that is a rare sight. Bike even had mufflers.

Did you ride past a big mirror Grog?

It's Friday.  I haven't been out the front gate since Wednesday.  It's quite nice.   Never really did lockdown as I had to go into work.   I'm sure compulsory Stay At Home is quite different but as I am now it's no bad thing.   I haven't even chained the gates up and folk have still left me alone.

More importantly... I think these are Hares not Rabbits...

Yes, they look like European hares.

Re lockdowns, I really enjoyed working from home qnd I am lucky enough to have a degree of flexibility with my current employer, we can self manage our home and office rosters.  I have a 1 hour commute each way, so for me the best was not having that, means walking from thr kitchen to the home office was my "daily commute".

Mrs was tied to a city job, nose to tail crawling traffic and $5k a year for a parking space etc etc.   Covid stopped that, after several months of working from home they downsized all their office space and now most of the staff work from home. They confirmed "home" could be anywhere with an internet connection as long as you came into the office once or twice a month for management meetings.    We are over 2 hours away now but all the time spent at home on acreage in the country makes to occasional drive worth while, and she gets to visit her family on trips to work.

The Covid boom in city house prices and us no longer needing to be there was a life changer.

I never got a day off work through Covid, but at least I got to ride my bike everyday.

I visited the Knife Angel in Newport.
Made to raise awareness of the amount of knife crime in the UK.
27 feet tall and made using 100,000 knives that have either been seized by Police or handed in at knife amnestys.
It's imposing and impressive, but I don't think it'll have any impact on knife crime whatsoever unfortunately.

Thanks for posting this @froudy it seems many people are arming themselves with knives these days, young and old, as they are easy to conceal & disposable.
Our Police in night spots have metal detector wands & use them frequently unfortunately.
Knifing someone is very personal because you're usually face to face.
It's a very different world now.

I saw on the news yesterday that a mother complained to the police because her two sons had been stopped and searched which she said was racially motivated.  She had forgotten that the police had found two 18" machete's on them, you can't teach stupid.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

As a kid I always carried a knife. I still have my childhood sheath knife in my collection. The difference being that back in those days we used them for cutting, whittling and throwing into trees etc. We never even thought of it as a weapon to go around stabbing people with.
The vast majority of stabbings are carried out with cheap kitchen knives, but seeing bike thieves armed with machete's and more than happy to use them is very concerning. Also the age of some of the kids carrying knives is alarming. Why would an 11 year old feel the need to go to school with an eight inch kitchen knife in their bag?
What a crazy world we now live in.

I'll add here that I'm a keen knife collector and have been for a long time. I always have a UK legal carry, non locking, sub three inch bladed knife on me. It gets used a lot too.

Country Town Swap meet this morning.

Up at 3:30am. Time with the dog, coffee, and on the road. Swap meet was about 110K's / 70 miles away so reasonably local, no direct highway so lots of country backroads. Some wildlife around so I had the pedals covered like a tuned two stroke's clutch.  No a bike meet, just a general one so lots of junk. There were a few bikes but not for me. There was a FZR1000 but butchered to fuck and painted purple ... I'll pass.

I do like the TE 20 "Little Grey Fergies". More for novelty value than as a working tractor, a bit too old and basic for what I'm after. Most are petrol but it was interesting to see a rarer diesel one for sale.  I resisted.

Some old bloke in the next village to me has a grey fergie, his sole use of it seems to driving the length of his village in rush hour with three mental collies on the trailer. He does it everyday to feed his horses.

It's nice to see a tractor that fits on the road rather than the oversized penis extensions most farmers insist on.
