Maybe a crazy question re: carrying something on my bike

When I picked up my G14 a few weeks ago I rode it home. As a result I was not able to bring the pristine OEM bazooka exhaust with me.

I have arranged to pick it up from the PO tomorrow afternoon. It is shaping up as one of the few non-rainy nice days in recent weeks and, especially as the PO's house is quite a number of km from mine (approx 25km one way), I began wondering this afternoon if there was any way for me to safely attach the OEM exhaust to my bike and ride it home. Would be a way more enjoyable day than sitting in the cage for 50+km.

My bike now has a Givi rear rack and monokey top box. I have lots of ocky straps, ratchet straps, blankets etc.

Anyone want to have a stab at how best, if at all, I could accomplish this? Also feel free to tell me it is a terrible and/or dangerous idea.

Not worried about the weight, but the shape and length are awkward. My initial thought was to attach it to the pillion footpeg somehow and have it sitting 'vertical' leaned up against the rear fairing/top box. Not sure if I would be inviting damage though to the pipe where it sits on the footpeg as I go over bumps etc on the way home.

I've tried similar things in the past. I've never managed it without either damaging what I'm carrying, the bike or both.

My initial thought is the end of the pipe on the pilly seat & strapped to the carrier somehow so it sticks out the back.

I did Bundaberg to Sydney in one hit with a full K5 system tied on so 23km across Sydney shouldn't be too difficult. The bike I bought was fitted with a Ventura rack so I took an RJ's bag with me to take the header pipes & collector & tied the bazooka with the small end tied at the rear footrest & the fat end to the rack.

Wrap the pipe in a towel then occy strap to the rear peg & seat.

Thanks for all the suggestions and the laugh. Just as I was about to leave on the bike a thunderstorm hit and it was soon bucketing down > took the cage after all. Ended up running a few other errands while out and about - came home with way more stuff than would have been easily stored/strapped to my bike.

More seriously a microwave (still boxed) and a week's food for a caravan I was using in Scotland.

Oddest thing I've carried is a Whippersnipper, held it like a lance on backroads between two nearby suburbs.

2 failure from me. Bought 2 pizza, garlic bread, 25 k home trip. Occy strap cut thru boxes, all gone at home. Funny one, they had 12 pineapples at cheap pice. 20 trip home, none left from strapping on back seat when home. I went back for a look. Could see marks on road where they dropped off. Ipassed 20 cars that trip, mustve thought bombs dropping can remember sitting on roadside,thinking of scenario. Monty Python proud moment. Maybe my best.

My friends bike decided to leak coolant in the middle of Romania during our trip, so we had to find a mechanic after diagnosing the problem

Years ago I remember strapping my back pack on, then had a spirited ride over MtGlorious only to find it missing at The Gap.
I walked the entire road the next day with no trace 😫😫
