I had one similar from GoVia (Etoll)
When I checked I had $63 in credit and no issues.

Had similar ones claiming to be Australia Post and NetFlix.
(I collect my mail and don't have Netflix!)

Anything asking for a payment, login or bank details is a red flag.

It must have been a day for it yesterday. After the Paypal one I got this message about a trailer I'm selling. He was persistent but I'm paranoid these days & don't give out info unless I'm sure of the situation.

I'm having issues with withdrawal from my debit card  for now so thts why I'm transferring from PayID through my bank app. I can only PayID you the money you can check if your bank app has PayID so I can make the payment via PayID. All I need to send the money is your email . So you can have your email attached to it if your bank app has PayID its easier that way

I always check the origin email, usually something similar to "paypal@johnno123.com" so you know immediately that it's a scam.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

froudy

Far too many scammers out there now preying on the unsuspecting and uninformed :furious:
Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups!

I had a text from Govia (supposedly) saying I hadn't paid a toll. I have an account with them plus I haven't been near any tolls for ages, I just deleted it.

GoVia is now called Linkt.

Have a look at Atomic Shrimp's (YouTube) scam baiting videos - informative AND entertaining.

Have to remember to turn my text sound off before bed, scamming bastards woke me up at 4 am with one of those unpaid toll ones last night

I used to get phone calls about my Amazon account which has an outstanding payment due, if I was bored or just wanted to have some fun, I would press option 1 to get through to them and then I would waste their time.  I often got calls from an insurance scammer about my recent car crash (which I haven't had) so again I would play along, when they asked for the reg number I would say "don't know" why not "I only stole it an hour before", they would hang up. :whatever:

Yeah I got that one about a car accident.  I told em it wasn't an accident and that I'd run the person over deliberately.

Surprisingly they persisted (presumably didn't understand what I was talking about) so I wove an elaborate story about how the police think its just a random but it was a guy I think was sleeping with my wife. Well, actually thinking of sleeping with my wife.  Well actually thinking of sleeping with someone else's wife. Well, actually his own wife...  :rofl2:
