Hi All,

It's been a bit of a weird day today overall!
Yes I went to pick up my new GSX (Sophie)..
She's actually better in the flesh than on the photos..
All went smoothly and I am totally happy about going from the triumph to the GSX.

The deal was done, I paid the man his dosh via Bank Transfer..
I don't know Staffordshire well at all so I asked Alison (my friend who gave me a lift) to lead the way as she had the SatNav..

I wont bore you with the details but within a couple of miles Alison had an accident right in front of me..
We were turning right across a carriageway to go and get fuel for Sophie and Alison was hit by an oncoming car!
She wasn't hurt but her car isn't happy..

I cant help feeling guilty as it was because of me that she took me the 100 miles to collect the bike..

The elderly couple in the other car were unhurt and surprisingly Ok about the whole incident..
They were more concerned at how upset and shaking Alison was.

Eventually we set off home and I followed her all the way (she lives 2.5 miles from me)..
On the way back we stopped and I noticed the left fork seal is leaking pretty badly.. That's a sod because the fork seals were recently done... I can only assume they were age hardened and with the bikes lack of use they gave up and needed replacing. Remember this bike has done less than 7,000 miles.
I will try the plastic scraper trick to see if I can dislodge and sh!te from the seal..

I haven't taken photos of my new bike because to be honest I wasn't in the mood...

I am off work tomorrow and so will go on a ride with my mate with the triumph Explorer.. I have kept it secret from him that I have changed bikes (again).
I will do a thorough report when I have more mental energy..
Right now I am pretty knackered.

As long as Alison is ok  :)
The older I get the better I was
The problem with retirement is that you cant take a day off
