Okay guys took the couch to the doctor only to find the fuelling was a country mile out ...and thats being kind...
anyway Doctor bob sorted out the fuelling ... fuel to air mixture back to a near perfect 13.2 or there about

New problem has arisen , when ive been out on a run the idle constantly sits at 1500rpm can anyone through any light on this
i plan to fit a new End can in the coming week or so will need to go back to Doctor Bob to be re fettled

will a second tweek on the dyno sort out my prob or am i looking at a totally different problem

can anyone please advise

Hooli

Turn it down then, the knob is on the LH side below the throttle bodies. It's a black knurled one.

Hi Hooli,

tried that to the point where the bike is idling at 950 - 1000 rpm but to no avail , with the fuelling being miles out before my trip to bob could the carbs need balanced or tps adjusted , stps , or any of the other sensors ,  im really reaching out now as i need this fixed

Hooli

What's actually happening? It can't be idling at 1500 at the same time as you've adjusted the idle to 1000.

grog

I totally dont understand either. Not sure what your problem is.

IF you're talking about the 1400 then it doesn't have carbs, though you keep referring to them. Confused?
Question everything

Okay let me explain

Starting from cold .... idle 2000 rpm for 10 seconds , 1000 rpm for 10 seconds then settles at 1100 as should be
when ive been out on a run and come to slower corners etc the bike idles at 1500 rpm not 1100 as should , if i blip the throttle sometimes it will settle it down to 1100 rpm but lately its been 1500 constantly until you switch of and restart ... after restart you would think it would idle at 1100 as its been running and hot but no it goes through a cold start routine again

Now my oily thinks its something  to do with the cold start procedure or sensor that controls it
Has any body any ideas ?

sorry for the terminology .... okay fuel injection

Ahh - Oil temp sensor is where I'd start then. If that is faulty then it'd have been really rich & the time on the dyno was wasted too. The spec for it are in the manual, I've had one go very high resistance so the bike was thinking it was in sub-zero temps all the time.

Just had another thought that'd point to the oil temp. When it's playing up, if you stop & let it idle for 5-10mins & the idle starts working again as the oil temp rises it's confirming what I'm thinking.

Thanks Hooli

I,ll relay that to my oily and see what he can come up with

Agree, either oil temp sensor or IAT.

Aye that's another option @grog my thinking is it's more likely the oil temp as when riding & the cooler is getting airflow then the oil will cool down & create the issue. The IAT should be less affected by if the bike is moving or not.

Hooli

Oh @Frizzy69 you can get the workshop manual I mentioned from the download section https://gsx1400owners.org/forum/index.php?action=downloads;cat=6 then your spanner monkey will know what readings to test the sensors with.
