Help needed, engine cut out

The other day while doing suburbia with a lot of traffic the engine, out of the blue, just cut out. Was at a low speed and just had time to press the clutch and avoid grounding. Engine was already hot. Well, I know they´re especially sensitive to idle revs, happened to me, cold engine out of the garage, didn´t give enough gas, and sided; the idle revs were at 1000 rpm´s. Anyway, since there was a lot of traffic and I was trying to lane splitter, I doubted if I was in too high gear for a too low speed. Being exchanging emails with Paul for the GPI mod. Too much to think about at that moment just wanted to avoid the ground. Some ideas would be appreciated. Tea bag filter cleaned a few months ago, side switch is fine, throttle cable slack ok,... Clutch switch up on the left hand perch, take the connectors out,  clean and after reconnecting, give them a slight tweak or twist to make sure you have full contact.  Had my engine cut out like that once, simple fix.

OK Eric, will take them out. I normally spray lube it, but just that.

This is the microswitch that sits at the bottom of the left hand switch block, there are two spade connectors that come out and face forward. These can get loose over time, or they get wet.  The microswitch is interlocked with the engine and detects at startup if the clutch is pulled in to allow engine start. Checked switch, all is fine.
