@grog automatics is a term that means as the watch moves around (i.e. as your arm. wrist is moving) it self-winds. Watch can be wound by shaking it briefly.

Many automatics also allow winding via the crown.

so you weren't really having a tug the other day in the Admin loo,     you're just winding your watch!

I've got two auto's.
My Seiko 5 Sports Auto and a very good "copy" Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 007. I knew the Omega was a copy when I bought it, so not ripped off. I got a local jeweller to have a look at it and he said that although not a genuine Omega, it was an exceptionally good copy. I only paid £150 for it.

The only watch I'd like to sell at the moment is my Seiko Astron GPS Solar. That never needs winding or a battery
