Not allowed or wanting 2 bikes. Mate has gone deaf, cant ride anymore. If i sold my 14 can have his perfect 2011 Diavel Carbon. Ive  had it here for 2 yrs, know everything about it. My decision today was which one. Like pulling teeth, so many reasons  why and why not. One is far faster, superb brakes, high maintenance, tyres expensive. Brilliant ride. Awesome bike, superb colour and everyone loves it. I chose to keep my old 14, never failed me. Crazy decision, just what i did.

Each to his or her or whatever own (this is my PC phrase for the day) but I would have just got it and had two bikes.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

As good as the Drivels are to ride (so I'm told, I've never tried one), they are pig ugly so I could never own one.

Diavel - paint it blue and white - sorted  :)
The older I get the better I was

Ouch!  tough decision that Grog.   Think I'd of done what Mick said, just have the 2 bikes.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

No tough decision - I can`t give garage space to a bike which I don`t like the look of, (and I hate the look of the DC), therefore the `14 would win hands down for me  :onya:

I saw a Diavel at Eastern Creek a few years ago.
He wasn't happy when I smoked him every session on my 1400.
In my opinion the 1400 is a far superior all rounder.
Just a tweak here and there and it's a track weapon (well not quite, but you get what I'm trying to say)
I think I got to around 1:53 (Eastern Creek), and for anyone who's familiar with Lakeside, my best is 1:06.2 on the 1400.
I'm very proud of that.
Too bad a certain former member didn't have the ............... (I'll just say it) guts to take on the challenge.
Good decision Grog.
Congrats.

So there's a Diavel going cheap?

Thanks for input blokes.Just no time to look after two bikes properly. Diavel insurance also a killer. IMO a stunning looking bike, but so is 14. Comparing both, one just a great mate that does everything, other is Italian mistress, high wants etc. Happy with my decision, my 14 best bike ive ever had, thats maybe 100, no reason to change. Diavel now gone to Tasmania, a great buy for someone. Totally looked after.

Good choice mate. Don't like the Diavel much at all.

Would have been  a different story if it was a 916 or 999...
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Just think, every time you got a $1000.00 bill for servicing the Diavel you'd have thought of the trusty 14 and wished you'd kept it.
Good decision  :smitten:
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

I was out riding on the mongrel back roads out here and hating every minute of being on these really bad roads but while I was cursing the roads I still acknowledged to myself that I really love the 14, sometimes I wonder if I should set the suspension up real soft seeing as these backroads and the equally bad and boring highway are all I ride on. Something stops me from doing it though so I suffer the bumps. The 14 rides a lot smoother than my old Honda four and kwaka nine though, man the Honda was like a hardtail.
I'll never go back to those old rattlers, the 14 is all I have now and don't plan on swapping it for anything, esp with my seat torture issues.
I wouldn't mind a Busa but the low bars kill it for me.

Kiwi, servicing just learning the ropes. Did whole lot inc checking valves. Oil etc just need to look for bargains. Manuals all down loads, around 4 special tools, not that expensive. BIG problem, Ducati data tool costs heaps, need it to turn off service light, any code that flashes. They sure charge to get it done. I reckon theres a way, just doesnt matter now. Yeah, 14 must easier/cheaper.
