Good afternoon all

I'd appreciate a bit of advice please. My K3 has given me over 13 years of pleasure, since buying it from a dealership in 2008, for £3750.
I have just had the MOT done, the only advisory is a minor leak of exhaust gases due to downpipe clamps corroding. There's 32k on the clock.

I'm thinking of selling her. Should I just try selling now, with the year's MOT, or would it be worth paying out for the casings to be powder coated,
new downpipes and see if I can get the nasty dent on the tank repaired first. Bearing in mind the cost of all that, I'm just thinking about selling it
'as is'. If I did that, what sort of price should I be putting it up for? Links to photo's shown below.

As Seth said just replace clamps and sell it as it is.  You will probably not recover the cost (and hassle ) of replacing the pipes and getting the cases sorted because once you start you will find other bits that need doing.  If you can hang on I would try and sell in the spring unless the bike is cheap enough for it to be a winter project for the buyer.  As for price  :whatever:
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

Thanks mjgt, I think I may test the water, by putting it up for sale soon. I did think that Spring would be best ( my MOT used to be in May, which was better, but was extended to November, due to Covid ) but a full year's MOT now, may appeal to someone. Cheers

No question - sell now with a full MOT.
The bike needs a morning of tlc, ie. polishing etc. then advertise it `as is`. No point throwing good money after bad. Far and above any other issues is the tank which is really bad, so be prepared for only one or two serious buyers and snatch their hand off for £3k, bearing in mind that a replacement tank will cost in the region of £800. Forget dealers, they`ll either not be interested due to the tank damage, or will offer really silly money, so really you`re looking at a private sale.
Remember, you currently have two things on your side - low mileage and a full MOT. The longer you leave it the less MOT it will have! At the end of the day, you`ve had a good few years enjoyment out of it so be prepared to take a financial hit.
Good luck with it. :onya:

Hi DP1400, FYI, I sold the bike on Ebay for £3250 a couple of weeks ago, which I'm happy with. The guy came all the way from Anglesey, to Essex. Cheers
