Hi Everybody

See attached pictures. This windshield came with the bike when i bought it a few weeks ago.
Does anybody know if this is an original part from suzuki? Instructions for mounting it?

Thank you in advance.

Regards
Jacob

Gidday mate, yep, I've seen that before, on both my bikes.  It was a dealer fit in NZ.  See below.  There's a bit of mucking around to get the plugs to the right bulb, but otherwise it'll go on as in the pic, as long as you have the 4 brackets that hold it.

Your bike looks great how it is though, IMO.

Unless you're a short arse, that screen directs wind straight at your head & it gets to be very tiresome & noisy after a few hours, which is why I cut one of mine down to direct the blast more toward my chest.

Riding with the full screen is very relaxed & easy, as it takes all the blast off the rider, it's just fecken noisy & shakes your head about at high speeds - should you get up to them.  :whistling:

Hi KiwiCol

Thank you for your reply.

Does the screen offer good wind protection?
I will need to tour on the freeway, and it gets nasty with the wind when speed is 120 km/t +.

Do you still have the bike?
Would be great with some closeups of how the brackets are installed.

OK. I might not install it then. I am 186cm

The more I think of it, I reckon 186cm would be ok.  I tried ducking down under the blast, but it was too far down & I recall thinking if only I wasn't quite as tall.

The fitting goes onto the clamps, I can take some pic's to show how they go if you like, you'll also need longer bolts for each of them as the std ones won't be long enough to take the bracket & still fit.

Be worth a fit & ride to see if it works for you, only cost an hour or so & 4 bolts, then if she's good, you can sort the wiring.

I went out & grabbed a couple of pic's, it's dark now, so not the best, but you'll see the cut down version in pic 3.

Thank you very very much for the pictures.
I will try it and see if it works for me.

Hi Jacob, and everyone else too.

Your fairing is an item made by a French company called TCP.  They did a range of fairings and panels each one designed for the bike.  I know they did Yamaha XJR1300 stufftoo,  but your fairing was specifically for the 1400 and were colour matched when you ordered it.  They did matching belly pans and radiator covers at the time.   They were on the expensive end of the market at the time, but I always thought they were very well made, and the brackets were equally well made and secure.

I have had mine fitted for about 15 years now, and I am very happy with it, especially on longer journeys.

I think I still have the advertising blurb somewhere in my cupboard!

Keep safe

Chip.

Just realised there is a "How to fit a TCP fairing" written by GSX Barmy in 2019, with copies of the fitting instructions on the forum.

Can't do the link thing, sorry!

No idea Colin, but as you say the link no longer seems to work, plus if I google them, I get no results.

However the .pdf to download from that thread does work! And that is all you need for fitting  :onya:
