@grog
Just a quick add on to this.
Metzeler is also owned By Pirelli too and both brands of tyres are made on the same production lines .

Would hate to get the rubber mixed wrong and end up with a Metzerelli or a Pirelezeter.....
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

I'd bet they share compounds between the different models and brands of tyres.

Makes you wonder if the compound is the same and only the tyre pattern is different.
Chinese cost cutting.
CAUTION - My forum posts may be worth what you paid for them!

Very probably
I remember chatting with s Pirelli guy at a BSB event he said the Angel gt2's was as close to a moto2 racing wet tyre (except moto2 use dunlops) for the road and should be as good in the wet as the dry but last a lot of miles .(I don't think the gt2's will ever last as well as the gt's but do offer better grip in the wet so that'll be the trade off)
The metzeler has a very different tread pattern so I'm interested to see how they go in both wet and dry and also how long they last.

Metzler does the hard yards and ground work developing the tyres and what ever works the best is then taken over by Pirelli and refined a little more before going to mass production.

You European guys get much more extreme changes of weather including rain and cold. So I understand your comments about wet grip.

Our extreme is usually from hot to hotter, so grip not such and issue, however when it rains (summer) in Queensland the grip level changes quite a lot as the first downpour usually brings all the crap on the road out of the cracks to the surface, i.e. diesel and oil spills etc. Then after several days of rain it settles down. I've always been a bit of a duck when riding and rain never fazed me, my mates on the other hand weren't always so keen.

We have BOM apps and can track the weather to within 15 minutes, so technology can help you avoid riding in to a storm.  :clapping:

Best allrounder I've ever owned 👍

Seth, Mate just fitted Angel 2s, original GT before. Cant notice a difference. I dont like the look, lines around centre, just doesnt look right, sort of old skool look. If it works, who cares.

@grog I'll be using gt2's on the other bikes just got the metzelers as had problems with my old tyre supplier .
Found some local who gave a good price on the metzelers .

i can only go on reviews from forums and m/cycle websites when im due for tyres and i cant recall what the previous tyres were like angels gt/st or the original bridgestones  when they were new but the angels had the best reviews when i got them fitted

the roadtecs have now done just over 200ks now and feel nice and comfortable
