@SFC1000 I will let you know if there is any noticeable performance increase. I have std 4-1 collector, 51mm gsxr link pipe and akrapovic carbon can. I noticed few tiny rust spots on standard headers so it was time to replace them. :smoke:

SFC, 34 is smallest part into collector. About $400 for headers, not a bad price. Cant remember stock size into collector. Think i saw it posted but not finding. Is 34 going to open up exhaust, its the throttler, link pipe, collector and can are ok.

Grog this is the sticky with the dimensions, https://gsx1400owners.org/forum/index.php?topic=5997.0

Delkevic Aust are at Kooralbyn and offer free post or you can buy them off Ebay and get a discount on the quoted prices at the moment.
The prices are downpipes, $319

Hooli

The new Triumph arrived today, so this is today's purchase. Full luggage too, but I've already put a pic up of it like that. I've spent the evening setting the levers etc up for me, checking tyre pressures and resetting the suspension to the factory settings so I know where I'm starting from when I tweak it.

The poor thing has only done 249 miles since Aug 2019, I think I can better that this year...

Mliv thanks for that. Mines a 4 into 2 all in good order with Staintune cans.
For $300 here, if there is some performance gain with Delkevic pipes which I think there would be given the dimensions I'll be buying them.

Hooli - I think I'd call it Blue Star as they had monster funnels like that exhaust!
I need to go somewhere I've not been but won't know until I get there!

SFC1000

Hooli nice clean looking bike, but that can.

Think I saw something like that across the Suez canal.

Yeah that Suez Canal whoopsie looks like the skipper will get a written warning

We had a container ship smack into a reef just outside the Port of Tauranga few years ago. First cargo off that ship were the dirty girls that got on at the previous port. Must have distracted the skipper somehow.
Ooops sorry Hooli you haven't bought a container ship.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Chances are it's staying. I got this for touring and stuff so with the strict noise limits spreading around the Alps a standard system is the best bet for hassle free riding

Besides I'm keeping the 14 with its Akra and my Bonnie has nearly straight pipes if I do need to make a noise.

@SFC1000 I installed headers today. It was easy and it fits oem collector very well. They went gold after 5 mins on idle and now they look great. I took it for a 50km ride and noticed deeper sound and little power increase, engine breathes better from 4000 to 7000 rpm. Looking good, looks quality and I am pleased! :smitten:

The gold looks good, must be the Chinese chrome process.
Do your old headers have one pipe inside the other?
If so I guess this is where the deeper sound and some power increase comes from with the new ones.

Mliv, unless you need new ones, no advantage. Mine sounds pretty good, pipes are good. Ill post site for if i need new ones. Thanks.

@SFC1000  All oem pipes are double skinned, mine is k2 and ID is cca 27 mm (new 39mm) and they got rust spots on surface but nothing that can't be polished.
Maybe delkevic company uses chinese steel but after reading dozens of reviews and now trying it, I think it's good product for the money!

No really need for new ones, old can be polished, but I am addicted in buying parts for my bike and modifying it

I also think they are good value and like I've said I'd buy them.
I was only referring to the Chinese process and the chrome finish going gold.
I'd say these have been trivalent chromed and that's why they discolour.
Once upon a time steel was copper coated, then nickel, then chrome.
I've seen 1950's cars in the paddock still with perfect chrome bumpers.
