Help...
I'm looking to fit a rear hugger and the previous owner has snapped a bolt in the attached hole. I cant remove it as it spins. I'm not sure of the name (it's what the bolt screws into)...obviously if I can remove it I'll struggle fitting a new one as it does spin....

It's probably a Nutsert, google it to give you an idea how it works, it's like a pop rivet with a thread in the centre. Although that's not going to help you remove it. Good luck.

I would say the only way to solve your problem is to carefully file down the lip on the nut carrier until it's flush with the swing arm then punch it through into the box section.  I would then hold the swing arm upright and squeeze a fair bit of silicone sealer in there to keep the nut from rattling around in the swing arm.  Then fit a new captive nut, jobs a good un.

Yes, I think I'd go with what mjgt suggested above. I'm pretty sure that you won't be able to stop it from dropping into the box section once you've carefully Dremelled the lip off it.

This is what you'll be needing to replace it with once it's out...

Good Luck :onya:

I've had a proper look and its definitely spinning.  I can put a small screw driver under and it lifts up about 2mm.

Will spraying something inside the swing arm cause a weight to one side? Causing an issue?

Was hoping fitting something as simple as a hugger would be straight forward. Always end up buying someone else's problems

No mate, a bit os silicone and an old nut will not have any effect on the bike.  Having your wallet in one of your back pockets will have a greater effect on the handling.  :whistling:
