Festive season, what ya doin?

Picked up the 3 GKs yesterday - daughter husband abandoned them so not much fun here - Trying to provide a good Xmas to the family but hard work for the Mrs. with a 1,3,7 year old and WE are 70 - never figured I be doing this going into retirement. Last day at work 31 December then looking to move out of the big smoke and find some tranquility in a different neck of the woods messing around with my bikes and cars. As Roger Daltrey said "21 is going to be a good year".

Up until yesterday we were to have Christmas dinner with our daughter and her wife - new Covid rules in Wales mean mrs Notty and me will now be on our own - omg I will have to talk to her all day

Global, feel for you. Totally wrong to have to do but no choice. My neighbours exact same. Both about to retire. Now have 3 kids in their care, parents druggos. Late 70s for them when last finishes school. Unreal people, didnt deserve that coin toss. Makes me so mad.

Fortunately we have free movement around Brisbane so I'll be ferrying my folks around to Christmas lunch with my partner Bobbie and her extended family. Prawns, Moreton Bay Bugs, Oysters and cold meats. Loads of dessert and a sleep to round of the afternoon.

I'm scooting from Wales over to Bristol today to drop some socially distanced pressies into my kids and the Grand children. Then, as my Dad is nearly 91 and it's sadly likely to be his last Christmas, I'm picking him up and he's coming home with me to stay for a few days. He's been housebound now since March and apart from various health workers visiting him due to his age and my visits to deliver food etc he doesn't see anyone. Rightly or wrongly, I don't want him being alone over Christmas.
Christmas day will just be me, Mrs F, my Dad and her Dad for the traditional Christmas dinner and then probably fall asleep on the sofa watching some repeated crap on TV.
