Quiet here tonight,
Not a soul was online, just a single Admin (they don't count as a person) almost as if everyone has better things to do on the lead up to the festive season?  Nah, can't be.

What are your plan for the holidays?  Feel like sharing what you'll be doing over the break?

Nothing changes for me, same shit different day. I'll be working even though it's only a few days a week, weekends feature in these days.
Hoping to get away shooting at the end of December, early January.

We're heading to Kaikoura as usual, we have a 5th wheeler there & a couple of quad bikes (Yam 700 & Yam 400)  We tow a boat up each time & fish for Blue Cod & Crayfish (with pots). We're not allowed to gather Paua (Abalone) since the earthquake, gotta give the remaining stocks a chance to recover.

We have kids & grandkids come & stay with us over the break, sometimes we have 23 there, we've got 11 grandkids,  it's all about the grandkids, creating memories for them.  I reckon, if later in life, they can recall good memories at Grandmas' & Grandads' camp, going fishing with him and all the camping stuff, that's the best you can hope for as a life legacy.

The wife and I were going to take the boat out, but I must be getting soft as it's too hot at the moment.
Was thinking of doing some surf fishing though we'll probably wait until all the tourists leave in the new year as they are everywhere.
You want to see how they crowd in, tents and vans along the beachfront.
Buggered if I know how you can call that a holiday shoulder to shoulder with screaming kids, load music, drunken revellers and all the other wonderful things.

Xmas Day i enjoy. Its my day to settle back, eat, drink, swim. Love the kids opening presents. I keep a low profile, no hassles or arguing. Whatever they decide to talk about, sit and listen usually. Im a tugboat in pool, stuffed by days end. Prawns n beer, often their crap music, sometimes even hear something i like. A day i like. The rest of Xmas season is just a terrible time.

Christmas is  just another day for me but as usual I will try to get out on the bike and have a decent ride out if it's dry.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

Ive wanted just the good lady and myself for one year as is usually a 8 on Christmas and same on Boxing Day - so the pandemic has actually done me a favour this year. - will still do traditional day meal with all the trimmings but without all the stress

Not big into Christmas, and it's not a good time for my missus for... reasons.

I was hoping to avoid my family as there's always WAY too much drama but seems I've somehow been roped into it.

I have to work up til Christmas and everyone else in my family is either retired or (in my sisters case) unemployed.  So they have forgotten what its like to work and have to fit life in around that. We'd just rather do outr own thing.

Anyway... yeah looks like a drive to the sunny coast, a drama filled 'drunk uncle' day, no drinking for me and drive back home.
I really hope it's not raining because I'd much rather ride - that way I don't have as much hassle with the traffic.

Due to bad planning & poor negotiation on my part I appear to be visiting family for a few days. I normally avoid it like the plague as I utterly hate xmas & my so called sister will be there. I've not spoken to it since I was 14 & I've never spoken to it's offspring, that won't change either.

I'd rather sit at home & do a bit on my Bonnie.

Our kids flew the nest years ago, and unlike every Christmas past, we`re not gonna be able to have a get together on the day, so we`re on our own. Boxing day we have the outlaws over. With having plenty to eat and drink, it could be a whole lot worse.

As our New Year celebration plans were binned weeks ago, i`m kinda looking forward to `beyond boxing day` when I can, at last, begin a total bathroom refit :bugga:!

Notty

Up until yesterday we were to have Christmas dinner with our daughter and her wife - new Covid rules in Wales mean mrs Notty and me will now be on our own - omg I will have to talk to her all day  :bugga:

The problem with retirement is that you cant take a day off
