Now, if you want a pig below 4k revs, try my Diavel. They say a re map will fix, others say not. It just hunts at lower revs, stalls very easily. Very difficult bike at town speeds. Comparing to 14, which is super smooth, pulls from any revs, any gear. Diavel just the opposite. BUT, above 4g for another lots of revs, wow. Makes my spine tingle. Just goes, stops, handles, no vibration. I guess lots of other bikes give same feeling. A full blown run on it, my hands are still shaking, first beer hard to open. Just my opinion.

 yep I bought thr gsx for the low down grunt, definately does not have heaps of top end but generally enough for the road =D my other bike I never get close to rev it out (07 zx10  :imrgreen:)

quick update, I fitted the healtech atre with gear indicator, feels like a different bike. Cracking open the throttle at 3k rpm actually moves you forward instead of the sluggish response before. Well worth the $

SheepDog

I installed this bad boy the other day.
Went for a quick jaunt and yeh! it appears smoother chugging around town between lights etc. Time will tell (it didn't make it bad in any way).
What was a bonus was the gear indicator. What a joy. After been spoilt with the 70's and 80's Suzuki's and their gear indicators it's nice this old girl has an indicator at last.  :onya:

Stuck it just below the speed dial next to the ignition (use a hairdryer to heat up and remove the Suzuki Label that was positioned there to save it if I want to reinstall it or what ever).
Anyway ... it's a thumbs up from me

Yep I like mine too - located where your voltmeter is.

@SheepDog Were you unable to know what gear your bike is in at all times ?  :stir: :stir: :stir:

Installed mine a few days ago. I ride mostly in the lower revs so I've definitely noticed a difference too. Feels more torquey at lower revs (not that it needed it but it's definitely noticeable) and the gear indicator is a huge bonus to me - especially when slowing down, approaching roundabouts and pulling up at the lights which are due to change at any time. I've got enough to worry about being a re(turning) rider from the 80s without having to guess what gear I'm in. I went with the holder which mounts it a bit out of view without nodding down a bit but I'm cool with that.

Match speedo to Rev counter ,  only in 5th or 6th do I sometimes wonder what I'm in.

There's only 6 FFS  :furious: :furious:

Wow, I wish I was as awesome as you. I find it helpful especially in the lower gears. Maybe one day when I grow up I can have a sixth sense about what gear I'm in like all the super stars. No need to be an arsehole about it. If you don't need one, don't get one for fuck's sake.

Calm gents please.

Because of the low revs / torquey aspect of the 14, many riders like having a gear indicator to show what gear one is in, especially when using a high gear / low revs. When I had my 14, I had a gear indicator fitted to mine exactly for that reason, as I kept reaching for a higher gear especially when cruising in 6th. Many new bikes have them as standard these days, esp those with the newer TFT or Liquid Crystal displays so they are becoming more common, personally I find them useful.

If you don't like them, then fine, but please respect that others do. Thank you.
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement
