Coming home tonight thinking, do most of us ride with knees in against tank or out in the breeze. I feel sort of more compact with them in but usually they just work their way out. Just wondering. 😎

Hooli

Only time my knees touch the tank is when cranked over & my outside knee helps push the bike down.

Or if I let go with both hands & then I steer with my knees in a similar manner.

Eric GSX1400K3

Kinda halfway, if its cold knees in against the  tank and engine.  Never out wide Kevin Schwantz style unless cranked over then outside knee against tank.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

KiwiCol

Same as you Grog, mine just out a bit & in hands free mode, they're against the tank.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Touching the tank most of the time. Like Hooli, when the pace increases it helps to push the change of direction.  :salute: :hat:

Mine have been doing their own thing for 45 or so years, not really sure what they get up to and quite frankly I don't want to get involved in something that is none of my business this late in the game

Aussie's seem very interested in this topic and I thought you's would only know of Dickie Knee.

paid attention to what they were up to today , and all of their own free will they grip the tank in corners and under brakes, but float out about an inch or two in a straight line, I can`t argue with that

I wonder what they teach you at the Superbike School, I've never been to one and have never thought about what my knees are going while riding.

From memory, and it was a long time ago, it was outside knee into the tank and inside knee on the deck with foot weight on the inside, I personally never got the knee all the way to the ground, but weighting the inside peg is second nature
