I had a ride out yesterday with some friends. The weather was pretty warm in the high 20's.
I was informed that when i was on the overrun the bike was blowing some smoke. The oil temp was high at nearly 80c.It normally runs at least 30c less. As the weather got cooler the oil temp came down and it stopped smoking.

The bike has done 21k and i use halfords oil, changed every 2k.

Is this a known issue in hot weather or do i have a problem please ?

Thank You gentlemen

Unless it does it all the time I wouldn't worry. Given the high temperatures you experienced, I suspect it could well have been some residual carbon (or suchlike) burning off and given it stopped as the oil cooled down (and the engine no doubt) would seem to confirm that thought.

Just keep an eye on the oil level for a while, but in all honesty I don't think you have an issue.
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

I'd agree with Dave.  Only done 21,000k & it gets oil changes every 2,000k?  I'd warm her up & give it a 5,000rpm tune up (on a private road or track of course  :whistling:)
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Still needs running in I'd say  :whistling:

These things are getting old so stuff like valve stem seals might be going slightly hard & they would cause what you had. I wouldn't worry about it though.
