With the benefit of hindsight l believe the elderly should have been told to lockdown and everyone else just get on with it.
My belief is that they have managed to pin the 21 or 22 covid 19 deaths on the elderly that most likely would have succumbed due to illnesses anyway.
But at least our economy may have survived somewhat intact.
I think it has been cruel when some have had loved ones pass away and have been unable to comfort them in their final days or give them a fitting send off.
ln NZ the numbers of those infected have not warranted the drama.

Yet more official figures showing this claimed 'plague' isn't nearly as bad as the experts said -

These are figures for Rotherham UK.

As of 8am this morning (Monday 1 June), there were 38 inpatients who have tested positive for Covid-19, of which 5 are in Critical Care. There were 38 inpatients waiting for their results.

This brings our total number of positive inpatients we have cared for to 514.

In total, 307 have been discharged and sadly 161 have now died.

There are currently 219 members of staff absent for Covid-related reasons.

The population covered is about 252,000. Which gives infection and death rates of about bugger all for the population as a whole.

In terms of a "real plague" such as Bubonic (Black plague) or the Spanish Flu, with 200 million and 35-40 million deaths globally respectively, this Covid 19 doesnt even register. Yes its very sad for those that have died and for those in isolation that couldnt say goodbye to their loved ones.  With such a connected global society, what is scary is the rate of spread that we saw, so imagine if Covid WAS a super bug like the aforementioned ones and then we'd have something to worry about.

Quite true, however I'm sure this is the second wave as loads of people here as a 'strange cold/flu' in nov/dec that matches the symptoms exactly. So if proper investigation was done it'd have been quickly established that it wasn't dangerous except to the very few. I'm pretty sure that has been done tbh, but hushed up as they can't admit they screwed us all over for a lie can they?

I thoroughly enjoyed: less traffic (we were still allowed joyrides in my state), cheaper petrol, people keeping their distance from me in the grocery store checkoutline.

The 10 million employees (not counting the self-employed) temporarily (hopefully) unemployed in Germany and who knows how many 100's of millions world wide are a desaster.

I don't subscribe to "social dictatorship trial" or any conspiracy theories. The pictures from northern Italy and New York scared the hell out of our politicians. We had a never seen agreement among all political parties for the measures taken and the approval rate among the people was over 90%. Now we have somewhat of a race to reduce the measures. And that is ok as the daily numbers are now low enough for the local health departments to deal with. Our hospitals were never in danger to be overwhelmed. Actually they were underwhelmed!

The one person that I know personally having COVID, lost 20 kg while in ICU and is now back running his business.

The Black Lives Matter Rallies where 20 - 30 thousand people gathered without social distancing is the most disgusting behaviour I have ever seen.

Those of us who followed the rules and stood in our driveways for ANZAC DAY are very very annoyed and will express this at our state election in October hopefully.

At this rate when a small minority can make a government change our history the auzies might have to give Australia back to the Aborigines.

I Just can't believe those useless bastards supposedly regulating new arrivals & securing the lockdown, just let them out!  It's just incomprehensibly, mind blowingly, fucken stupid.  The majority of the country are more than 'slightly miffed' I can tell you.
