DP, have always worn gloves, wont ride without them. A bit warm in Summer but thats how it is. I went to fat foam grips in early 80s, was much easier to open those 40 mm Dellortos. Have had them since. I also use a throttle rocker, much less finger fatigue. Agree those old 70s bikes sure had bad skinny grips. Earlier Pommy ones were worse, sticky in Summer, no grip in Winter.

Have said this before. I have tennis racquet grip wound over my Oxford heated grips. I don't like spongy grips and my hands don't get so numb.

Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Grog, interesting to read that you use a `throttle rocker`. They and `cramp busters` have very mixed reviews, the most common issue being that they can impede normal throttle use. Having never ridden with one fitted i`m wondering whether you find yours awkward at all?

The older I get the worse the numbness in my wrists/fingers becomes, especially in the colder weather, however, there is no doubt at all that my heated Oxford grips really help :onya:.

This fatigue problem is likely to get worse the older i get (coming up 62), so eventually i`ll be looking towards fitting `electronic cruise control` - anyone here have `ecc` fitted? Or is it an impossible mod to fit to a`14?

Missed that DP......l use what you call a throttle rocker. Have used it for years. Even did a track day with it on. You do need to get it positioned right, don't use it all the time but its there when you want to. You can just use it when you want a rest. Saves my wrists and hands cramping.
Good investment and easy to remove if you don't like it  :onya:

Thanks Kiwifruit, worth considering for the future then......and as you say, the positioning of it is critical in relation to throttle response & control.

DP, i hardly know its on there. Never impedes throttle use.As said, correct position is critical.

Simple throttle lock work just fine for me

Had one on my FJR worked fine, tried to fit it to the 14 not the same setup, but will fit one later.

throttle rocker is about $995 cheaper than fitting cruise control too :)

As for thickness of grips - its a very individual thing, depends on the length of your palm and fingers. I'm sur ethat for me thicker than standard would be useful. I've no need for heated grips at all though.

DP - wouldn't dream of riding without gloves.

Anyway, fitted the fat grips. I cannot believe the difference. The rentals were so thin you could feel the ridges of the throttle tube. Madness. I also have another year old Suzuki thats fitted with OEM grips. The thickness is identical. Perfect, now Im getting on.  :salute:
