I expect they'll need an earth lead as both the horn bracket & frame are painted, I don't see it being a very good earth connection to use.

As far as I know there is not one thing on the 14 that is earthed to the frame. The spark plugs are earthed to the engine, from there through the big earth wire directly to the battery. Every other electrical component is wired to the big earth wire (from the engine) via the connector close to the battery. The frame is earthed through the rear engine mounts. There is no direct earthing of the frame to the battery.

I would go with Kiwicol's suggestion and put a ring terminal on the earth wire. Easy and clean solution!

I assume not using local earths is to get over the differential in each earths resistance - my Triumph Thunderbird would flash all the dashboard lights once the engine warmed up due to the normal earth location becoming high resistance (from new). So smart move by Suzuki. :)

Well the relay system works a treat. Now l can go out to the shed hit the horn and the 14 sounds like a truck. Do look a bit fugly and had to tweek the brackets as they did foul on full lock. Will see how they go.
At least another 16 days before l can ride it  :furious:
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Well done Col. Glad you like them. If you get sick of not looking good the supertone i fitted look good, need extra paint, sound like a small truck. Quite loud.

Grog, these things are ear splitting and I love em !!   :boogie:
Can myself getting a cuff around the ear from the bride if I use them tooo much with her on the back.  :wife:

May have to support them with a cable tie as they could vibrate.
Even my daytime running lights wired from the other horn work.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

GSX, the Supertones are 118 decibel. Thats the specs on Hella site. The ebay copies are exact same horn, just 1/2 the price.

Just had mine delivered from china - in quarantine in the garage for next 7 days - then a coat of black hammerite after reading the reports on here of rust forming  :)

Cannot say, they would have been on a secondhand front cut l got to tepair something, l would have kept them after seeing the Klaxon brand name.
Lets just say you brace yourself when testing.
Wifey came up to the  shed to see what was happening
Down side is they are a bit heavy and not pretty......oh well, never mind  :boogie2:

Why hide greatness

Been looking at adding some louder horns/klaxton to the 14 and this thread has been great.

Had a mate that added an old spinning up siren to his bike,   sounded like a Junkers Ju 87 dive bomber and cleared EVERYTHING off the road in front of him :happy1:
