It is neither the flu nor is it the black death! It is in between. Much more contagious than the flu and more deadly. If you don't take strict measures the health care system will be overwhelmed. In particular the intensive care units will not be able to handle all the cases needing treatment with ventilators. In Italy they have this situation. Not only the ventilator spots are sparse. Yesterday the military there had to pitch in with 70 trucks to transport the deceased to crematoriums outside of a certain province. The local crematorium couldn't keep up anymore.

The world and national economies will be hard hit due to the measures taken.  "Hard hit" is likely an understatement. I hope that all governments will let the cash rain so their people get through this crisis. I wouldn't be surprised if a great many countries will increase spending so much to support the unemployed and failed businesses during this time that they go bankrupt.  It is a bad thing for one country to go bankrupt BUT lets say the G20 (+) go bankrupt at the same time it's not that bad. All can start over debt-free.

I am also glad that I had a few good rides these days. Looks like the last ones for a while. Each ride I came across a bike accident. I hope these guys will be alright. They certainly will get the needed care in the hospitals. I am not certain that they would get the level of care a few weeks later on.

I went out and stocked up on cat food yesterday. Not many shelves empty, tinned soup, some bread, hand sanitiser, still plenty of bog rolls. Filled the ute up with diesel and got some petrol as back up incase l need to go for more rides to maintain my sanity.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

That is a ripper Col. Did you see pic of semi trailer, one toilet roll all ratchet strapped down. Also good.

We do most of our shopping split between Aldi and Lidl, yesterday I went out on the bike to collect some odds and sods and have a bit of a ride out.  Aldi had plenty of stock, even bog roll.  The only things in short supply was hand sanitiser and paracetamol so I was able to get all the things I wanted with only a long wait to get to the tills.  When I got to lidl it looked as though locusts had been through and stripped the place, no bread, bog roll, soap, pasta, milk and most shelves were empty.  I had to go back to Aldi just to get a loaf of bread, I even bought some bog roll which I didn't need but didn't want to miss out for when I find the pasta and bog roll recipe.  Has the whole country gone mad

Here Aldi cooperates with McDonalds by temporarily employing the fast food workers in their stores. A win-win situation. Maybe that's why they are keeping up restocking the shelves in your place as well.

Stolen from another group...

The self isolation scooter/motorbike rally.....

Due to the cancellations of scooter/bike runs and rally's I've figured out how you can still enjoy a good rally on your own😀👍.....

1, late on a Friday (or any day you fancy😉), pack your camping gear and weekend supplies onto your scooter, and try to forget something you really need.

2, set off and travel for a while then head back home, if you're riding a lambretta/(insert least favourite motorbike) try to have a couple of breakdowns on your short trip, that won't be too difficult🙄.

3, when you get home find the muddiest part of your garden and set up camp, try to wait until it's raining if you can😉.

4, go into the house and open all the windows then put your best Ska, Mod, Northern Soul tape on and play it at full volume.

5, Stand in the garden (if you're lucky it will still be raining) and listen to the music while chain smoking and drinking a warm can of lager/beer.

6, drink as much as required until you think you can dance like Ace in Quadraphinia/David Lee roth,  once tired retire to your damp sleeping bag.

7, option one,,, get up at 6am (still pissed) because you couldn't get to sleep and drink tea/coffee until about 12 mid day🙄.
Option two,,,, wake up at about mid day (feeling like shit) and start drinking lager/beer again😉.

8, later in the afternoon wonder about the garden, remembering to chain smoke and down beers until you feel yourself again. Now is a good time to award yourself the furthest travelled prize and best scooter/motorbike😀👍. Celibate with a few beers and take some pics of your scooter/motorbike  and yourself dancing with a can in your hand.

9, eat some really cheap burgers (wash down with beer/lager) then repeat stage 6 again.

10, oversleep in the morning, then bundle your muddy wet camp gear onto the scoot and set off for a short run out . When heading back for home have a complete mechanical breakdown, or a puncture, or at least try to get lost😉.

11, once home, dump the scooter/motorbike and dirty wet camp gear in the shed/garage with the intention of sorting it all later.

12, Settle down indoors on your favourite seat in the warmth and comfort then fall asleep. Later that evening post pictures you took on Facebook.

13, repeat every second or third weekend until about October.
2020 is sorted😉👍😂

Seriously folks look after yourselves.

The problem with retirement is that you cant take a day off

You could just stop next to the van and start coughing and croaking at him to help you, that should have him moving off at high speed

Just been to Tesco. Not much social distancing there. The government will have to close them!!! ;)

Only a quarter of beers and lagers left on the shelves and a half of wines and spirits.

My neighbour works on the CT scanner at the largest hospital in Wales. We have all read about the selfish bastards clearing the shelves. This morning Tesco was open an hour early for those in the NHS and the others who are keeping us safe. When she went in the staff were stood clapping them in - How wonderful  :notworthy: :notworthy:

Well I drove through Matlock Bath in Derbyshire, a well known favourite spot for bikers to gather yesterday, and saw hundreds of bikes parked up as if it was a normal weekend with the riders all milling around together chatting, drinking etc.  :furious:
Fucking unbelievable. All obviously fully paid up members of the "it'll never happen to me" brigade.

Mind you they weren't the only ones, families were out together too, enjoying the weather as if no health crisis was affecting the world. Cretins.

Apparently it was the same there today as well.

Stay safe everyone, although it won't be easy with pillocks like this in society. Same ones who're stripping the shelves first thing in the morning no doubt.

Rant over
