Hope you are your wife are both A1 again real soon.

Looks like you have done a good job there! When I worked in the Tool Hire industry they were know as Briggs and scrapthem rather than Stratton   Hope you get sorted

Cheers

They are not far away if anyone needed any bits off it.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

They certainly charge for Briggs in NZ. 27 hp here $2000.

Don't knock Briggs & Stratton guys, I bought this new way back in 1989, only thing changed has been : new tyres, seat, battery, & cutting-deck casing due to it rusting through in places, NOTHING done to the engine at all apart from annual oil changes, & unbelievably, it still has all the original drive-belts & it starts on the button & drives like new.
I DO have to grow old, I DO NOT have to grow up.

Totally agree on Briggs. Had self propelled 5hp Rover mower, Briggs motor. Only ever broke a couple of start ropes. Was a month off 30 yrs when retired. Reckon mustve done about 800 hours. Burnt valve at about 300, then again when i ended its life. Would still be going if id repaired it. Maybe 3 oil changes ever. Not bad for a motor with no oil pump, terrible air filter set up, didnt blow smoke or use oil. Started 2nd pull whole time.

I suppose you guys `down under` will be using Victa mowers for cutting smaller areas(?) - brilliant machines......fitted with B&S engines of course :) :stir:

My  Rover mower with a Briggs & Stratton engine is at least 26 years old now and still works perfectly, changed the oil yesterday, probably it's third or fourth change in it's life.  Brilliant bit of kit.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick

l think my engine may have been made by a 9 year old in China.  Seems the older the engines are the more reliable they are. Sounds like l changed my oil more than all of you put together, perhaps that was the problem.   :confused1:

Ok, ill jump on the "which mower have you  got" bandwagon, bit weird for a suzuki mc forum, but anyways.

Ive got an ex jims mowing honda buffalo ezystart push mower, starts first go everytime, doesnt blow smoke at all.  Need to replace the governor at some stage, but it only gets used for 30min every 2-3 weeks. Its Probably  done about 500 hours still going strong.

My dad had a b&s self propelled, absolute p.o.s. i hated it. Engine was rubbish.  He traded his old original victa in for it, the ones with the victa engines, bulletproof.  Nowadays victas are also  b&s powered, so i wont touch one of those.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

I don't even know what I am pushing over the lawn. Cheapest my landlord could find. Oil level has been steady for years. Won't change the oil. When the sucker breaks he buys a new one. Good enough for me :coffeescreen:
