Not paying for real stuff and one way to avoid repainting - has anyone applied that 'contact' that looks like fake carbon fibre to a  complex shape like a hugger?
If so, any tips?

I think the term you are looking for @VladTepes is 'wrapped'. If you haven't done it before find someone who does wrapping to do it for you on a complex shape as it takes a few goes to get used to working with one sheet the size and complexity of a hugger. Not overly expensive to get a pro to do it. Typically paint shop guys or car detailers will know someone or google it.
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

Had my front guard done by shop few years ago. Stone chips on paint. Quote to paint was $400, wrap was $150. Still looks same, hasnt degraded at all. Not to everyones taste but i like it.

That does look trick Grog, but i reckon on a B&W bike the blue front  hugger still looks good.  Wraps these  days are pretty durable.
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

That's not a hugger that's a guard but yeah.
@gsxbarmy yep that's def the term I was looking for :onya:

@grog - yeah makes financial sense that way for sure. I guess even if I just wanted plain black that'd be cheaper than painting any way so probably a good solution !

Yep sounds like getting a 'pro' to do it is definitely the way to go.

Thanks lads.

Thought about hydrodipping??

Its better in some ways as it gets into all the 'nooks & crannies' !!
I DO have to grow old, I DO NOT have to grow up.

No I hadn't thought of it. Didn't cross my mind. What sort of $ does it cost?
