Hi there everybody, just checking in to say hi, 65 year old just bought an 07 1400.
Been wanting one for a few years, I owned a 1250 Bandit a few years back but I couldn't cope with the wind noise that only I seemed to find a problem. I loved the bike but the wind noise was a deal breaker for me. I just sold my old Honda CB750 K2 which has allowed me to buy the 14. I also have a 76 Z900 kwaka which I'm told I'm not allowed to sell.
The 14 has 61,000Ks and looks to be in good er, nick. The front tyre while still having plenty of tread is out of shape and the bike rides accordingly, I have tyres on order, going with Angel GTs as that's what I had on the Bandit n that bike rode so well, right now it has Michy 4s. Today I fitted the speedo healer that I had stashed from the Bandit, speedo was out by 9K at 100kph. I hope to fit the gear indicator soon but man they ain't cheap these days.
Right then, off to pour a Bourbon n coke, look forward to some banter in the future.
Cheers, Nic.

Welcome Nic .... where about in Oz? Nice looking 14 you've got yourself but there's still going to be some wind noise although much more if you fit a screen.
If you look like your passport photo then you're too sick to travel.

Welcome Nic,

Nice  1402 and in the right colour scheme  too....

(Can of worms opened, here we go....)
I try to take one day at a time, however sometimes several days catch up with me at once.

Thanks for the welcome guys, Snapey, I'm in a small town called Braidwood in NSW, hiway riding for me, wind noise, the bike did have a little screen on it, I took it straight off and can hear a small improvement, I went out today with no ear plugs and I reckon the wind noise wasn't too bad, wack in the plugs n all will be good.
With the bandit I tried all sorts of screens and in the end I realised screens just make things worse. On the bandit you have the fairing and the tank pushing air right into your head, I'm pretty happy with this one so far, apart from the bad front tyre.
There are quite a few similarities between the two bikes.

Hi Nic, welcome to the forum.  Nice K6 there.

Now, looking at the pic, it appears you have some extra gauges there, or is that just something behind it?  Be interested to see a couple of more shots.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

More welcomes, thanks fellas. Yes the extra gauge is my gps speedo that I use to calculate my proper speed, I took the pics today and hadn't removed the gps after hooking up the speedo healer. Here's a pic of that.

Great spot Braidwood but if I lived there I'd also have an endure bike for those fire trails. I've spent many pissy weekends staying at the Araluen pub.

I do enjoy the ride down the mountain although it's nothing like the Clyde, less coppas though  :clapping:

K6 I reckon, because of the colour scheme, same as mine.  Mine's a 2007 K6, just means it was first registered in 2007.  There are a few 2009 bikes about too, mostly K7's though.

I can't be sure but on this site https://www.suzukicycles.org/GSX-series/GSX1400.shtml if you scroll down to the 2007 model it says the tank now has a redstripe on the tank, which mine does??? and the 2006 doesn't.
