Looks alright, will it take a crash helmet?

It will take 2 full face helmets and only cost  $ 85 AUD delivered, so pretty happy with it

Will be interesting to see how long it lasts - as far as vibration etc and also if they used appropriately UV stabilised plastic.

Yea, I`m curious as well, can`t imagine its as well made as the name brands, but I`ve tried pulling on it pretty hard and it seems secure and  the lock catch seems OK as well, time will tell

Looks good.

But I'd be making up some sort of "back pad" to install.  That hinge running the full width of the top box would be a rather painful hit in the back for the passenger if they manage to slide back under acceleration.

Yea, I did note that, but as I don`t generally take passengers it`s not really an issue, also if I was taking passengers I could swing the Ventura mounting plates around  to move the whole lot back a couple of inches, I mounted it as far forward as possible while still being able to access the under seat storage without having to undo anything

Loving the convenience of a lockable box, have put it to good use a couple of times now, much more user friendly than the panniers I had on my K100 as it doesn`t get in the way when filtering

It's bad enough that you used a Ventura rack but moving it back is asking for trouble. Make sure you have a tether attached to the box because you won't know it's gone when the rack breaks.
If you look like your passport photo then you're too sick to travel.

I just looked at the Ventura site and maximum recommended load is up to 20lb. With the overhang from the fixing point on a 1400 I'd say it's less than that. That top box alone would be about 4kg or 9lb.

Not carrying anything heavy in it, mainly just using it to put my jacket and shit in when I get somewhere, there would be a lot less stress on the rack than with the bag facing backwards as the front of the box is 100mm further forward than the front of the bag was.
