My current insurance company has just sent me my renewal quote,if I stay with them and do nothing my insurance goes from £396 to £496 . If I cancel my policy and go through a comparison site my exact same policy with the same company is now £276, WHAT THE F :furious: :furious: K. Where do they get these ridiculous renewal quotes from???.

Insurance companies make a fortune with people just automatically renewing without taking a second look at the price!!
Ya just saved over £100 from last year with a few minutes  :boogie:

Happens to me pretty much every year. Last time I rang to enquire why the price had gone up, the guy freely admitted that they give new customers a discount to get them in, then the next year they charge the 'normal' rate.

Same applies with lots of things. Broadband, TV subscriptions, you name it. Always shop around.

the reason for the increase is that everyone goes with the cheapest quote usually and that means that that insurance company has the most claims that year meaning there discounts with the main brokers gets reduced meaning there premiums go up - same with the dearest companies no one insures with them so no claims so better discounts for them making the cheaper company for that year - and so it goes on - its like the RAC & the AA I change every year as 1st hear is introductory price and they do state it will go up the at renewal

I stuck with Carole Nash this year as only went up £10.00

I went back to Carole Nash. I'd been with them before, but the price went up. This year I got a multi bike policy from CN (1 modern, 1 classic) and it was cheaper than having a single bike covered elsewhere.

I tried to get mine under $2000 / £1070.

Clean licence, old bloke, bikes garaged, good postcode, limited use.

Several modded bikes, with all the conditions I wanted.

It never happened.

I think all insurance providers and underwriters should have to provide a percentage of claims paid and claims refused to give the public an idea of who is shonky and who actually insures.
May the sun be warm & shining and your roads be smooth & winding.

They all do it apart from one, Be-Moto.  When I get their renewal it's usually the best price, they have never been beat since I've been with them and that's over 5 years. I do look around every year but nobody can beat them as far as I'm concerned.
Keep the rubber side down.          Mick
