Hi not to be rude but chasing knowledge not opinion. I have just purchased a wreck. Bike is extreme low mileage. It has no gauges. Will the engine run. I have got splutters on aerostart so am getting spark. Before I start chasing problems I just need to know, from someone who has actually done it. With all other electrics in place except gauges will engine run. Thanks. I have posted this question and phoned many places and only got opinions.

I know the answer but with my knowledge comes an opinion so I'm no help to you then.
If you look like your passport photo then you're too sick to travel.

I was pretty sure the answer was the bike doesn't need clocks to run, but.....

... as mine were smashed and I now run a KOSO aftermarket dash the plug on the back of the clocks is very easy to unplug, so.... I just went down the shed, unplugged the dash and the bike starts and runs fine.

Late model black K7/8.

My bike runs fine, just the same with or without clocks.

Yep as Tony said ,bike runs fine without the clocks.
If you had to drive without clocks, you can just use your phone as a Speedo.

When I bought mine it was a repairable damaged bike.
Clocks were smashed and didn't function.

I was pretty sure I'd ridden it around the block a few times to try it out,
but it was a few years back so I went and unplugged mine to be sure.

Clocks and tanks are regular things to take an impact in a crash with 14's.
Very common to hear folk that have damaged ones or or are after them.

Thank you all. I have been going mad with internet experts. Just needed a definitive answer. Thank you I will change fuel pump and keep trying to get her to run. Thank you.

Before you go to the expense of a new fuel pump, remove yours and check that the teabag filter isn't blocked :onya:
Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups!

Mate, maybe a pressure test and flow test will answer some questions.

Bike has been sitting since 2011, no noise from pump, hooked it straight to power to test. Heaps of spark and compression, cranks like a demon, all other d diagnostics I can test look good. Now the gauges have been taken out if the equation it is just old school.

The downside to not having factory gauges is not being able to bring up factory fault codes.
