This morning 6am, no muffler Hardly using full revs past my house. I love the sound of most bikes but that noise is just noise. I cant understand how they enjoy it and get away with it. The pop and bang thing on cars also the latest rage. Huge backfires.

If only there was some sort of system that could detect noisy vehicles and fine the owners...

A system that detects noisy vehicles is relatively simple. But it is not simple to assign the measured noise to a particular vehicle unless there are no others around. Also other noise sources need to be excluded. Also vehicles emit different approved noise levels (even different depending of year of same model) depending on RPM. When the cops here measure noise they bring the RPM up to what it says in the papers/VIN plate.
