Hi All,

When I originally owned Sophie I used to get truly p*ssed off with chain lube all over the Red wheels after every ride!
My mate never got lube on his wheels and so hardly ever needed to clean his wheels (except for the road dust)..

He uses something that at the time i had never heard of..
Its called "Banana Slip Chain Wax"
https://www.tru-tension.co.uk/product/bananaslip-chain-wax/

In the UK Halfords sell it !!

Does this stuff actually lubricate the chain links & rubber seals? or just smell nice & stick to the chain, along with all the grit etc?   :whatever: That's the question you gotta ask yourself if you're considering using it.

Chain lube, now there's a topic that could do with airing . . .  :rofl2: :whistling:

Banana Slip Chain Wax.........Speedy you sure its chain wax.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

My opinion, is like Col. Wax coats the outside, but does it get in to the links & seals?
A nice guy called Grog, got me and a few others on to gear oil & I wouldn't go back.

Is the banana oil for recreational use as well ?  :)

Oring, Xring, Wring chains are all self lubricating. You don't want anything getting past the seals and washing the grease out.
Anything that sticks to the chain without flinging will become a grinding paste in short order, unless you remove the previous application before adding the next.
I still recommend WD40 as the most cost effective chain lube.
May the sun be warm & shining and your roads be smooth & winding.

Yet WD40 is one of the best degreasers I know. Having said that it's base ingredient is also Fish oil.
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

I have a real bad habit of cleaning my chains with the spray gun and panel wipe (pre paint)  point turn and spray - wipe off and re lube - never had tight spots chains last a fair old while

Im using Wurth Dry Lube just now but tend to clean and liberally oil the chain once a month then run the bike up to speed on the Paddock stand to chuck the oil all over the place - dry the chain and then re lube

works for me but can see how not everyone's cuppa tea

I don't oil my chain, nor clean it - ever.  Nor do I get any fling on the rear wheel.
