well ,not been on for a while, bike out of storage after winter. put away working ok having returned from tour in italy and southern france.
prior to this i did the fuel pump mod ,as directed on here . when i got back i fitted a nifty little fuel filter under the tank instead of the ugly large car job in the tool tray . i ran the bike around no issues .
now it starts fine and revs ok ,but at about the point you expect it to have warmed up 3/4 min it starts to sound like its running out of fuel and does not like to pick up ,but seems ok if you get above 3500rpm .turn off and the cycle is repeated for the next few min.  i took out plugs and found them looking like the choke /rich running?? was stuck on .  i took the new fuel filter off , blew thru no issue noted , the other thing i did on rtn from last yrs tour was block off the pairs ? reed valves but again i had run it around and it seemed fine , i did this because on long runs over say 2/300 miles i had noted that it got a but lumpy and did not like to  pick up when rolling on the throttle ,say to pass a car ,it would pull thru it and be fine  .short runs say 100 miles nothing unusual, anyway it sure seemed fine when i put it away ,tomorrow i will rtn the pairs to its original story and try that tho i cant see why . anyone any ideas ????            .

A few folk have recently reported simular faults and they have been due to lose/dirty/corroded connectors either in the loom(behind the sidepanels) or the headlight bowl.
Might be worth a check there first .
Other thing is to check the charging and reg/rec as that seams to have simular effects on the running if starting to play up or go faulty.
Plus check clutch switch and side stand switch.

cheers , will look clutch and sidestand switch in the am. after i have removed my pairs reed valve blockers  and tried after knowing all back to std .

ajl

of note .. no fault code present at all ?

seth

It'll not be the pair's removal kit unless you have a leak in the seal .
Good luck

ok checked all plugs /connectors. nothing seen pulled sensors checked them , i have been keeping the bike batt on a ctek charger but still noticed it struggle a bit to start. so i jumped with ride on mower batt and it started no issue and prob seems to have gone away ???  revs cleanly. only issue i am not certain its batt related  or something else that i have inadvertently disturbed/fixed. thing is it shows as charged on my  tester, but struggles to start without 30 min on normal charger . i am guessing that a failing batt might cause issues with power to injectors and that might/would cause the lumpy low end and eventual stall , even tho it would seem to start ok.. anyway i will try it again in the morning., if its ok and DRY i will give it a run.

I know of a few instances where things all check out but there are still issues - and in those instances the battery has been the culprit. It may be worth taking the battery to an auto sparks to get it checked for holding its charge and/or whether one of the cells is starting to give up.
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

cheers, think i will just change it. my ctek says its ok ? but it really seems to struggle ,and the ride on mower starts it no issue  .and the stutter /hesitation has gone, for how long ? who knows .  when i get batt i will run it around and see, fingers crossed .  this is a great bike but once sorted i am going to move it on . its just too heavy for me ,i struggle to get it on the centre stand ... its a blue/white 03 with 10k miles from new.
