Hiya all
Looking to help a friend in Europe with a gsx1400 sidecar  ( needs it as he's deaf so no balance due to cochlear implants giving his hearing back )
I'm needing to know if anyone knows of anywhere that does a 4-1 and link pipe so the single exhaust comes out on the left side of the bike .
Thanks
only a slightly modified gsx1400
oh and a standard one too

I think I know a company in Germany that is likely to do this. I'll give them a call tomorrow.

I remember your friend. Only 14 sidecar I have seen in the flesh.

:stir:thanks @Andre that would be most useful and hopefully more local than here .

Depends on where your friend lives. The company is north of Hamburg in Itzehoe.

I talked to them before regarding their down pipes for my 4-2. Quoted me about 700 €. That's close to what you'd pay at Robinsons for the original pipes. All their components can be mixed with OEM parts

He certainly needs the collector specially made.

Down pipes he should be able to use any for the 14 (OEM, Delkevic, Black Widow). Any left muffler for the 4-2 modells. That saves him a bundle.

Would be good to know if he wants a complete system, down pipes and collector, or just the collector before I call them.

What model does he ride?

@seth Let me know, I'll wait before I call.

His downpipes are like new
So all he needs is a collector and link pipe then can fit any aftermarket end can.
He's near venlo but that travel widely so wouldn't be a problem .
Thanks

I think he only needs a collector as the OEM does not have a link pipe. See attachment. Aftermarket cans come with their own link pipes.

seth

It's for a k3 that had twin exhausts so s short link pipe would probably be needed too as all link pipes will be for a righhand exhaust do wouldn't fit with a left hand pipe.

I'm only going by the drawing here, & maybe the actual one is different, but if he can get hold of a stock collector then any exhaust place should be able to use the three joining pieces again & bend and weld some pipe so it exhausts on the LHS.
If you look like your passport photo then you're too sick to travel.

I still have my standard collector at home if it's symmetrical then might be possible to cut and reuse the original parts to make what's needed .

I just looked at one I've got Seth and it's no more than two hours work. If the collectors are cut at the welds then the short pipe could be used on the other side so only one pipe needs to be made with two simple bends. Cut with care & the bracket could be re-used too.

Talked to the company (MAB-Power.de). He would need to come with the bike. Cost 650-800 € for collector and link pipe.

I like Snapey's idea though. Might be cheaper by a lot.

seth

Thank you for the work  :onya:
@Andre I'll pass on the info and let him decide what he wants to do .
