Niki Lauda passes away.

Sad news as we find out that racing legend and 3 times F1 World Champion Niki Lauda has died.
Not always my favourite driver but a tough man racing in tough and brutal times.
A real racer.

Sad news indeed .
He recently had a lung transplant as the fire in the 1970's had damaged them more than people had thought .
Last I'd heard he was making a good recovery but I guess the smallest of things can make them fail .
Rip to a top man who did things his way and always spoke his own mind .
Him and James can race again now.

Whole heartedly agree  He certainly lived life in the fast lane. The movie Rush is a fair representation of the man also. A very determined character indeed. RIP Niki and condolences to his family.

RIP. To just survive then come back, amazing. The fire crash in Germany, had asked others to boycott, too dangerous, no help from track authorities to make safer. Was it Nurburbring, not sure.

Yes @grog it was the nürburgring .
A scary place at speed with no runoff if things go wrong .
Niki had also had 2 diffent kidney transplants I never knew about so he'd had poor health for many years .
