Yuasa seems to rule, my original lasted 9 yrs. Motobatt next, terrible battery and stuffed at 2 yrs. Yeah, i know, shouldve got another Yuasa. HVT ive had for over 12 months. Never looks like going flat after weeks of no use. Rated at 300 cca, mine tests at over 350. Bike just zooms into life. $150. https://superstart.com.au/hvt-8-ultra-high-performance-agm-motorcycle-battery.html

I had looked for HVT but seems not to be available here (right way up).

I'm a Yuasa fan as well, (or used to be) Last battery I brought lasted 2½ - 3 years max & it's completely buggered now.  Maybe got a crook one?  :whatever:

Johno

I followed grog's recommendation and bought a Super Start AGM. Just happened to be at a Caravan and Camping show and SSB had a trade stand promoting their products. They distribute a wide range of batteries for the auto market. Battery arrived by courier today, so looking forward to fitting the 300 CA battery. I'll post some feedback when I get it installed.

How much do batteries cost in Oz @Johno ?
I know that you seem to pay a huge price for consumables in Oz and Nz compared to the UK.

A Yuasa in the UK is about £70 0r 129AUD.
I can get a DID X-Ring chain and JT sprockets kit for £80 (149AUD) here.

I see some scary prices for what you guys are buying "down under"
Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups!

The old Yuasa battery seems the go. More importantly a good trickle charger to maintain it for as long as possible. I've been using the OptiMATE 4. Attached to the rafter above the bike where the interface lead dangles down to connect to the interface tucked under the seat/side panel area.
