I shipped this one from CHC to Japan quite a few years ago.  Had it in my warehouse for about a week or so while a crate was made for it.
Some of the office people got 'in' it & had their pic taken.  Bit too cramped for me, and if I remember rightly, the exhaust came right close to one of your legs - apparently Burt used to get burnt quite regular because of the heat coming off the pipe.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Yep.... it's a FANTASTIC film.

Which gives me an idea for another thread....
Ottomans: 'Hippity hoppity, Vienna's our property"
...and then the Winged Hussars arrived.

Both the original and the replica are on display  at E Hayes & Sons in Invercargill. Well worth a visit if you get to Invercargill. Not just Burts bikes but a nice collection of both cars and bikes.
Yes its a damn good film......you can even let the kids watch it !!
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

Bit of busted stock there, check Burt's sandshoes, lower shelf.
Went to the Burt Munro Challenge in 2012. Its a great event and the bike fraternity is made most welcome in Invercargill.
Google, Burt Munro Challenge. Anyone planning a trip to the South Island in late November could do a lot worse than including this on their itinerary.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

The real deal:

I think this is the one made for the film -
Ottomans: 'Hippity hoppity, Vienna's our property"
...and then the Winged Hussars arrived.

Dad and I watched this film a few years ago..
He was in the Merchant Navy and stayed at Invercargill for a while..It suddenly dawned on him that he'd actually watched Burt Munro speed testing his bike on the beach!!

Shame he didn't have any photos.
Assumption is the mother of all fuck ups!
