Been & done it again, why do I let myself in for this??
Its a 1962 Ariel Leader, 250 2 stroke twin, basket-case, ( just as I like em )  did everything except the re-chroming, built the wheels with S/S spokes & rims, most parts are unavailable nowadays, so I fitted new Suzuki pistons/rings ( slight modding required ) homemade the screen fittings, rear carrier thingie, rear 'bumper' cheapo  ( wrong ) panniers from china ( £30.00) No indicators, so I bought the nearest looking to original I could find, but they were 12v LED, i'm on 6v, so I stripped them out & made up assys to take 6v festoon bulbs, designed & 3d printed rubber mounting blocks, printed all the logos/badges, & did the seat myself as well!
It really is awfull!! :embarrassed:

Cracking job Lawrie.  It looks like the great grandad of the Goldwing.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

Great job Lawrie - I remember my mate had one when we were 16 - spent more time pushing it trying to get it started than riding ! :smile2:
The older I get the better I was
The problem with retirement is that you cant take a day off

That's a cracking little bike you've got there!
Nice one.  :)

I have a 2003 GSX1400 owned since new (Blue and White of course).  I have a 1977 Suzuki GT380 café racer and A Japanese import Yamaha XG250 Tricker.  I'm interested in anything mechanical.  Was an aircraft technician / inspector, but I took early retirement - because I could!

Thats different.
I quite like it.
A project is always good. Tinkering time is time well spent.

As scooters go, that's cool.

You're doing some heavy breathing there lawrie so maybe you like it a bit TOO much  :rofl2:

You've done a great job there Lawrie ... it looks original to my very untrained eye.
If you look like your passport photo then you're too sick to travel.

Mate, think you win the Nobel prize for fixing stuff. Ive seen a lot of your work on here. All praise. I wish you had met my Dad, he was same vein as you. Brought home crap and turned into magic.
