Yoł, i have a issue.
I bought a hyperpro front progressive kit. All package come to me with instruction, springs, stickers and ... hyperpro oil.
Oil wich they give me is SAE 20 1 liter. I call to them and they told me that this is oil (20W) for this kit and capacity is also ok for all front suspension.
OEM oil is 5W, and about 620 ml each fork.
Which oil i have to use now... :whistling: anybody who is riding hyperpro progressive springs? What oil and how much do you applicate ?

@gsxbarmy had or shared a list or there is a list of what folk have in there bikes.
Hyperpro same as the other companies have there own settings
The oil amounts depends on the thickness of the springs ECT done with lots of research and development for each kit they supply.
I'd go with there recommended amounts and give the bike a good run if it's to hard or to soft add or remove oil slightly and re-try.
only a slightly modified gsx1400
oh and a standard one too

Speedy put new springs on Sophie - he may know
@Speedy1959
The older I get the better I was
The problem with retirement is that you cant take a day off

Teufel

I use 15W oil 150mm from top of fork leg.

Kiwifruit

Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

gsxbarmy

Aftermarket spring manufacturers vary both the weight and amount of oil to be used with their springs - on the springs I had fitted they needed 15W oil and 140mm per leg.

So - if Hyperpro say to use 20W oil, then that is the weight to use - also follow their capacity recommendation per leg for the oil/air gap
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

Thanks for quick answer  :8:
So then I will go to oil which they send to me

Teufel

Kiwifruit,
Yes. I think they are Hyper Pro.
I got them from Moose Racing Products in Victoria.

Hi

I too replaced the front springs with the Hyper Pro progressive

KoZi

Hmm  :jack: so probably suspension with 20W oil will be "verry hard" in damping...

No - you are assuming you leave the settings as you have them today. Once you have replaced the springs and oil, then you need to set your suspension up, probably soften it slightly. I had mine setup by a suspension specialist and the difference was surprising, and that was on 15w oil. If you use a thinner oil then all you are doing is negating the benefits of the new springs.

Basically once you have changed the springs and oil then both your front and rear suspension needs to be setup properly by a suspension specialist. Oh and you will still need about 1.25L of oil for the forks.
Nothing to do.............all day to do it....I love retirement

I know that the SAG settings must be corrected. I will do it obligatorily.
Ok go for the SAE 20 and then correct suspension settings. I will tell here my observations on the road and track  ;)

Thanks gsxbarmy for info about oil capacity ! Now I have to bought extra 1 l od 20W fort oil (in the kit thehe was only 1l...   )
