Hi Everyone, I'm sure it's been covered plenty of times but I cnat seem to find much info on it. So I've a k2 1400 and just fitted a full system, Delkevic 4 into 2 stainless downpipes with 300mm stubbies, has a K&N air filter in her and fully serviced. Pair blocking plates ordered.

All my other bikes I've gone to my local tuner and got a full ecu reflash on the dyno once I had my desired modifications done and had great results but seems you cnat get this done to the pre k4 ecu?  :whatever:

My question is can I get a 2002 Gsx1400 ecu flashed or is it a complete no go?

I had a pc3 thatcame with the bike but I didn't use it so flogged it on months ago

Thanks

I think folk have tried to flash ecu's but never heard it working very well.
I'm afraid the best way to go is a power commander 3 or the new 5 nothing else is easy .
Shame you sold the 1 you Had.

The fuel injection can also be adjusted with a Yoshi-box or Nikko-injection-adjuster but it is not as finely adjustable as with PC.

Yep... I have a k2 with a yoshimura box tune aka yoshi box aka ecu tune. It had more options on the box box but on the 14  it only adjusts the open time of the injectors.  the ignition timing can not be altered.

It is a very crude way of tuning with only 3... Yes...three zones which can be adjusted. It affects the low, mod and high rpm zones and only in limited increments.
plus or minus 5, 10% in those 3 zones. The tuner mentioned he never could set up a bike perfectly with these limitations.  the tune was cheap enough to try but he was right.

It *can* prevent your bike from running extremely lean due to a different exhaust system and air filter but it will never be a full scale tune.

It is a reversible tune...btw

On top op that ecu tune I have a power commander 5 with the autotune running for about 2 years.

The pcv setup is much more refined and the autotune smoothes out the afr very neatly..if you accept the suggested fuel trims on a regular basis.

I just can't believe their is no software available for the K2 but is for the k4 and onwards, crazy in my mind. I'm sickened I sold the Pc3, it was just sitting there gathering dust so said no point in wasting it, I'll be getting the ecu flashed so won't need it.

I just cant justify paying €400 for a pc5 then dyno time and setting up on top of that. I plan on getting a Yoshi cam over the summer but would have rathered the ecu flash now. I'm stumped :frustrated:

I didn't think the ECU flashing was a worthwhile idea, not particularly successful from what I've heard / read.
😎  Always looking for the next corner.  😎

If your going down the road of yoshi cams your deffinatly going to need a power commander and dyno time.
To get it to run properly.
We can help with maps to get you run in then it'll need a dyno run to set up £150 ish job done around 135 rear wheel bhp.
The k1-k4 are the twin exhaust models and although the gsx1400 is basically the same bike for the k5 onwards it got some Suzuki modifications.
Shocks/forks(internals)/clocks/fueling and map/imobiliser were all added or changed.
That's probably why you can't see any info your looking for.
The other reason I say about a power commander is lots of us use them and can give you lots of help as you go .
If you do manage to get your ecu flashed there much less info to help you.
As I always say to everyone
Its your bike and your money so totally upto you what you do.
Good luck

I use Yoshi Box on N/A area, but I also have adjustable fuel pressure regulator with rising rate and another ECU and MAP sensor for extra nozzles.
I can recommend Yoshi Box only to small fine tuning at low rpm on STOCK engine, higher rpm adjustments are too rough.
PC 3/5 are much better options.
