One for the old car detectives...

Here's a challenge - these are the only pics I have., It was evidently seen on the Loongana Track (Nullarboor Plain).

My first thought is a 30s Ford maybe a model B but it could of course be something entirely different (and probably is).

So - let's hear from the car detectives.

Looks like a flathead with cooling pipes out of top of head.

I,ve no idea what it is, but it's not a British Leyland car, there's too much left

Because of the pipe on head I reckon it's a Renault.

Well I have since discovered the answer.

But to make it more fun, I will simply reveal some details of the engine and see if that leads anyone the right way. (it's a big clue)

The engine casting number for the Hudson 6 cyl flathead motor manufactured between 1929 and 1936 should be 63525.
If you look at the full size version of engine picture above (magnified in attachment) you can make out 6?525 directly above the engine mount.


If you compare the engine out of this 1930 model

you will see same steering box, same inlet manifold, same water manifold, same distributor position.
