Givi topbox - which one?

I currently have a 42l givi topbox of the monolock style.
Following a tap in the rear, it probably needs to be replaced.

I'll need a new topbox and plate on which it sits.

As I understand it, the monolock base can be replaced with a monokey base easily - no need for different side bars or anything.

I need to find a topbox which:
- is 40l capacity or slightly more (to fit my bag)
- high enough internally to hold a full face helmet
- no wider than the handlebars (for filtering)

and ideally one which has, or can be fitted with, an LED brake light.

I have to get two quotes, so in order to do so I need to know what to ask for.

I have a 46ltr givi one for general use and a 50ltr for when we go touring .
Emma has a 47ltr givi one all the time.
You should also look at the kappa range as they are made on the same givi production lines in Italy the plates are interchangeable as long as the same type
monokey-monokey
and monolock-monolock.
Remember eBay is also your friend as a givi/kappa box with mounting plate fit on your rails with just 4 bolts so dead easy to fit .

The thing is, even if it's cheaper, the insurance company wants actual official quotes.

@seth do you know the names or model numbers of the specific boxes you have?

Ok all our boxes are monkey systems.

My older boxes that were either twin side boxes or as a top box were maxia ii(2) both are 45ltrs
Emma's is a v46 (46ltr)top box
And my current top box maxia 50ltr I never use it full just handy space.

I don't know the part.numbers for them but this should get you a start on looking.

I had an e52 on mine, which I think got updated to the e55 (55 litre).

@VladTepes - remeber that link I sent you for the Givi spare supplier in Sydney? Look on the Givi site than maybe give them a ring for a price - or get them to mail you a price

So if there were an option... which is the better way to go - monokey or monolock?

Mono-key gives you more options and is much more common a fitment to other boxes to .
The difference between mono-key and mono-lock is the way they fit on the mounting plates.
All my boxes are mono-key.

Monokey every time for bikes such as the 14.

Irish in Oz

Ron Angel  Thomastown  Melbourne is the main Australian Givi Distributor, he had the last of pannier brackets available, however he would not sell to me direct, I give him the name of my nearby dealership and picked up and payed for them there.

The V47 would be my choice. I use an older 46. I think they do a 52 or 55 but unless you wanted to take teddy and your favourite pillows away with you l think l would put too much stuff in it. Might be wrong but l think 10kg is max load. Thats pretty heavy.
Another great day on the right side of the grass.😎

This nifty little pannier and topbox frame may interest you Vlad  :whistling:
