'Hi Everybody!' just a quickie again(ya know what us poms are like)but me has a'faint whing electrical sound' comin' from the back of the engine area mebbe,is mostly v.quiet(not the fuel pump whine, but of similar resonance)could hear it at standstill,no lights on,in neutral, but if me puts a brake on it changes in tone.
Anyroad up,happy gnu year to all

My first thought when I seen the title was "are you married"

No idea on the real issue though.

KiwiCol

Does it change in tone when you flick the headlight on & off? as it does when you put a brake on.  (Parked up & in neutral as in the earlier test)

Hiya what year is your bike as a few k5's had problems with the generator bolt coming lose so allowing it to spin on the shaft .
Other thing I can think to check is has your chain been replaced or adjusted recently as the sound of how the chain runs along the guard on the swingarm can change.

Other thing I've just thought of to check is the rear disc itself as mine developed small cracks at 50,000 miles ish

Yup, get that thing removed & I think your problem will disappear too.

I was thinking of the genny nut too, hence the headlight question, more load on system.
